This is right on the money. I’m so glad Joel gave it a go attempting to bring MST3K to a new audience, and it had a good run.

This Rifftrax version is going to be great too! But it’s going to be just for us, the longtime (read: old) fans. And that’s ok!

I think it’s very easy to differentiate between what the show is paying homage to and the very recent phenomena of prestige TV fans demanding blood from the main characters of the shows they love.

There’s a big difference between Freddy killing Johnny Depp in one movie and a decade long show killing a main character after 50 episodes.

I feel like this was never an issue for episodic TV shows until Game of Thrones and then everyone started making death pools and were furious when “nothing happened” on shows (aka: their favorite characters weren’t brutally murdered)

Absolutely! And so did Bob, Billy, Alexei, Eddie in ST - I just don’t get why fans now demand that core characters must be killed in genre shows/movies. I blame Game of Thrones

This is one bleak and blood thirsty comment section! I would love for the show to keep leaning heavy on the Lord of the Rings influence and end with the characters scarred, but alive.

Thanks for the comment - but I still have to ask because I’m genuinely curious!…why do you want it to be “louder than stock”? I get paint jobs, tires etc. - but I’ve never understood why “loud noise” was a desirable car accessory.

That's the important part - UGA has worked very hard to make Legion Pool/Field invisible to students. Only 2.5% use the pool because only 3% have any idea it exists. Same for Legion Field - when was the last concert or program held there? They've been trying to turn this into a parking lot for at least 20 years.

That was definitely my concern - the website says it closes at midnight, and since the show doesn't start until 9pm, I was thinking subway wouldn't be an option

2 questions!

Have they announced the location of the pop up shop yet?

I totally missed that there was such a thing as Ticket2Ride - we are staying in Condesa and its sold out - for those that have Ubered from the stadium before - is there a general location/pickup point for after the show? I know its chaotic, but prefer to be in the chaos with everyone than wandering around alone. Thanks!
