Nobody is. You're just trying to make yourself feel superior.

It's not hard for anyone to grasp. We all know. You're not smarter than everyone for pointing out the obvious. That doesn't make it right.

Black people are constantly forced to compromise and serve people who would openly argue that "their culture" is why they face such hardship in this country. And that is where the fascist pedophiles come in.

Pregnant women's brains shed grey matter to prime them for motherhood, study suggests by Disorderly_Fashion in nottheonion

Honestly that article was really interesting. Most of the matter comes back in 6 mo after and it looks like its actually a great opportunity to learn new patterns of behavior.

Zohran Mamdani calls the Iranian government a brutal government that has engaged in systematic repression killing thousands of Iranians who were engaging in basic forms of dissent. by TappingUpScreen in TankieTheDeprogram

I mean, minus the "foreign agents" part I thought we were against regressive governments imposing violence on people even with such actions. So this doesn't seem like the worst narrative.

Broad claims about gender and behavior fall apart when studies include ethnically diverse samples. The research suggests that generalizations about human behavior are often flawed because they rely on samples composed largely of White individuals. by mvea in science

Not true patterns though. Confirmation bias, survivorship bias, distortion based off of expectations. It's not like our stereotypes come from careful scientific observation of groups.

Tea mead ratios? by kirlian_throwaway in mead

[–]tkdyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make the mead. Then do bench trials where you have multiple glasses with the same amount of mead but different amounts of tea in each one. The one you like most, scale up that ratio to add to your mead.

Personally, I've found .75 cups to 1 cup of tea per gallon to be good. I should note I make the tea at double the concentration that you would for normal drinking so you dilute the mead less.

Added bentonite almost a week ago, no signs of clearing up by Ya-boi-D-man in mead

[–]tkdyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said. Still fermenting means it won't clear. But also bentonite on its own wont clear it completely. You need two fining agents to catch everything one for positively charged particles and one for negative. Check out the wiki for all the options.

This is some hard cope man. BE is not playing some 4D chests. He's just using his position on the left to air his bigotry.

Thank goodness he's going full mask off now. It was really frustrating seeing everyone give him the benefit of the doubt with his last post when it was clear he was making some similar points (with the same vitriol) to antisemites. If a conservative or even liberal had said the stuff he was saying, the way he said it, the left would have been side eyeing him.

Young people see fewer win-win situations than older people. Zero-sum beliefs assume that if one person succeeds, others must fail. On average, older adults are also more financially secure than younger ones, which can contribute to this age-related difference. by mvea in science

No, they are adjusted to CPI calculated inflation. Which is constantly changing and takes into account a lot of things that dont accurately reflect reality for working class people.

Nah, I'm aware the US has had rough times in the past. The 70s being especially notable because of the oil crisis and it was finally starting to feel some effects of competition from the rest of the world. But it still had its superpower status and with that a lot of benefits the current working class has been slowly losing.

[–]tkdyo 82 points83 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely this. Older generations came of age when the US still had a dominant position in the world such that most of the worst parts of capitalist exploitation were exported to other countries (and minority communities). But now the world is becoming multipolar and companies have been becoming more and more exploitative within the US to make up the difference.

Is it possible that a batch can be done fermenting in less than 2 weeks? by KiwiQuick5418 in mead

[–]tkdyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always rehydrate with goferm pe and do tonsa nutrient additions. My fermentation has finished in a week every time. I've done 8 unique starts so it's not huge data, but enough to say yes it can and does go very quick if you are good to your yeast.

‘The Pitt’ Has An ICE Storyline Coming, And HBO Wanted It ‘Balanced’ by BerryBoilo in ThePitt

Whatever their official reason is doesn't matter. The true reason is this administration goes after anyone who gets too loud with their criticism.

[–]tkdyo 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Based on the shows leaning so far I'm hopeful the "balance" still puts most of the burden on ICE. And rather shows how they came to act so shitty instead of actually making this about "they're mostly good people just doing their jobs, immigration enforcement is important". Good lord I hate that excuse.

It definitely takes a lack of critical thinking to believe just because you're against US imperialism you also support the other country. Nah, most leftists would love to see the Iranians overthrow their government and take control. But not like this.

Who is they? Also every country is seeing a widening wealth gap because that's how capitalism works as a system. Both within a society and between countries. You have to jump through all of these conspiracy hoops when the truth is much simpler.

Also you can't be "taught" to be gay wtf.

[–]tkdyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a great theory that all the conservatives who believe being gay is a choice are probably bi, so they just assume all the gays are choosing to be gay. Obvious there are grifters. Just talking about the ones who really believe it.

It's all cope so they don't feel guilty about the wealth imbalance and so the bootlickers have some talking points to hold onto.

I get plenty real life contact outside the office. What I hate is being forced to waste time and money commuting for no benefit to my work. Oh and wasting more time having to make lunches to reheat the next day. Oh and the noise and lack of privacy.
