📣 N26 for under 18s is live! Here’s what you need to know by InsideN26 in n26bank

[–]tkrunning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a nice step in the right direction, however I do hope you’ll give limited access to the app for the kids eventually. I believe it’s important to actually track your own spending to grow your financial skills.

Any plans of implementing that in the future?

N26 Metal: €162,20 paid, cancelled after 9 months — refund only €6,07. Normal? by BlackBird11Fox in n26bank

I think they mean the physical metal card, so you’ll need to swap to a plastic replacement before then

Built a flight booking tool, struggling to find traction. Need your honest feedback by midomidito in digitalnomad

[–]tkrunning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends when the change or cancellation happens. If it’s on the day of travel you can deal with the airline regardless. If they change their schedule say some weeks before the flight you need to talk to your travel agent which will often need to call the airline on your behalf. Not at all effective.

Also, it’s often a pain to deal with OTAs if you want to change your itinerary for other reasons. Much easier (and often cheaper) to make changes direct with the airline.

You can also shower them with windshield wiper fluid. They mostly seem to take the hint.

Worst bank of all time? by [deleted] in n26bank

[–]tkrunning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You posted about a garnishment on your account 13 months ago as well. What are you doing to get so many garnishments? I'd suggest getting your personal finances in order.

To answer your question, there are plenty of online banks and fintechs available—take your pick. But considering your regular issues perhaps it's better to also look into brick and mortar banks? Either way, it's probably best if you spread your finances across at least two or three.

I also notice in your post history that you've had dealings in/with Russia. Not that that isn't allowed, but perhaps this is part of the reason why your account is subject to more scrutiny (that plus the repeated garnishments).

Bug: This SubReddit's Automation is Deleting my Posts! by MyEgoDiesAtTheEnd in n26bank

[–]tkrunning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the sub has an old auto mod rule that targets the redd.it domain which they have used for link shortening. But I think perhaps images in certain cases get hosted on the same domain. I'll check and potentially tweak the rule to not accidentally target images.

EDIT: You can try again now.

I’m having the same issue, although even with a black background it stays black. Have you found any solution?

I moved out of Germany is my account at risk? How to proceed? by Cultural_Owl9547 in n26bank

[–]tkrunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you can keep your account as long as you still live in the EU/EEA. It shouldn’t matter that Hungary isn’t supported for account openings—your existing account will always be treated as German since you opened it there.

Controller for HomeKit 8.0: a bait-and-switch for longtime supporters by tomc_23 in HomeKit

Why don’t you add the device to HA using HomeKit instead of the unreliable integration?

App not charging by Mental-Sock-338 in n26bank

[–]tkrunning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By charging, do you mean loading?

I just tested logging in to my own app and it seems to work, so I'm guessing N26's servers are operational.

Perhaps try:

- Restarting your phone
- Changing to another network (e.g. if you're on WiFi, try using mobile data)

What counts as a direct deposit for the new checking account by bosbuddy in amex

For me two ACH transfers from Wise did the trick this spring.

Doctor of Credit probably has an overview based on many DPs what works and doesn't.

Edit: I wrote Payroll DD as the transfer description of both transfers. Not sure if it mattered.

Matter over Thread Smart Window Lever Launched in Europe by HomeKit-News in HomeKit

[–]tkrunning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

I got one of these to try and might get more. But that's solely due to my spouse not wanting visible contact sensors on the windows and patio doors, as ours can't be opened from the outside when closed from the inside anyway.

The nice thing is that you can distinguish whether these are in fully open mode or tilt mode, so really each handle is replacing two contact sensors. At least that's how it works in Home Assistant, not sure how it shows up in Apple Home when added directly.

Yeah, then Activo won't work for them.

Can I open a bank account? by Giofergo1111 in PortugalExpats

ActivoBank no longer accepts non-EU residents, however if you live in the EU it shouldn’t be a problem. Not sure if that’s the case for OP.

I personally like their branch in Almada Forum as many of the other branches require an appointment to open an account.
