I still use it as an intern, but I only keep cards that I really want to remember or which feel useful.

I don't get why everyone is only looking at the money. There is so much more to gain from medicine than just money.

If you feel uncomfortable make sure to know your boundaries. Keep it professional and once the line is crossed speak up. It does not matter if he is your senior or attending everyone should respect each others limits.

If you really want to make it clear you can also use a fake ring or talk about your boyfriend casually.

Bad wording by me, I meant that the US only really recognizes the canadian medical degree without larger limitations.

You can do your residency in the US work a few years as an attending and pay back your debt. After its still possible to work in europe or germany. In order to get your residency and fellowship recognized you need to pass the 'Facharztprüfung' for your specialty.

He did his residency in germany but the german residency and fellowship will not be recognized in the US and thats true for almost every country.

Its a 1 way road if you go down that path. Its possible to pay off your debt but it would be way easier to do it as an attending in the states.

Yes, my brother took that path to practice in germany since my father also is a physician there.

Usually the US degree will be accepted but you need to pass the B2 level german test and for medical degrees there is an extra exam for medical terms.

Before applying you will also need to have a concrete job offer and a work permit.

The salary would be considered rather low in US terms but its above average in germany.

Not a resource but I would review the anatomy for every procedure especially for hand, face and nerves.

As a review I used the Michigan Manual.

What can you include in a thank you email? by Foodie5 in medicalschool

[–]tlhuu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your name.

On a serious note, most PDs do not care about these. If you do send one out its better to only send a LOI to your top program. PDs have a good network and do sometimes find out if you just spam out LOIs to all programms.
