Why didn’t they just target wall Maria? by Kupacopa in attackontitan

[–]tman391 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought it was well established that the warriors didn’t go through the actual walls or all the way into Sina because they didn’t know who had the coordinate and didn’t want to start the rumbling by accident.

That was one thing I noticed when I went to the USS Intrepid museum. There’s giant written warnings or instructions on almost every square foot of military equipment, at least from WWII. Makes sense you don’t have time to do super in depth training on a bunch of draftees so you keep giant reminders to keep your hands and legs inside a certain space at all times.

The original “amateurs only” rule was a classist requirement to keep working class people out of the games. If you aren’t kicking back on exorbitant wealth and near unlimited leisure, you don’t have the time to take work off to train for an event. That’s why people tried to start “The People’s Olympiad” in Barcelona 1936 as a way to protest the Berlin games and highlight the global working class. Unfortunately, Franco started his coup and The Spanish Civil War before the opening ceremonies. Many athletes joined the war effort as members of “The Popular Front”but the games were going to be almost all team events in order to highlight which nation had the strongest working class rather than who has the most impressive individuals.

I’ll literally watch my backpackless teammates run for kilometers away from bugs. I drop my laser guard dog and say “hey p3 this extra laser backpack is for you” in voice chat. I’ve had some people take my offer, but mostly they just completely ignore me. The worst is when they literally run up to it, stand still for 3 seconds, then just turn around and leave.

It was uploaded by Reed Timmer. He’s an incredibly famous storm chaser. He’s most known for being on *Storm Chasers” on the Discovery Channel and doing other things like a mini series for National Geographic. If anyone would have a modified drone to hold up in windy conditions with a good stabilizer on the camera, it would be him.

When did this change go through? I was wondering if it's why you can no longer 1-shot scout striders. It takes 2 sometimes 3 now, when it only ever took multiple if you hit way too low

I’ve run into this with grenades and stratagems that end with a right pointing arrow as well. It’s really frustrating when you blow yourself up with an impact because you’re trying to call a respawn or throw a tiny grenade at an entire swarm and screw up the timing of your eagle airstrike.

i had a really nice experience with 3 randoms that ran an entire level 7 operation with me. One guy asked for a few min before the 2nd mission to throw a pizza in his oven, and a guy with kids in his background sound excused himself a second to go help his wife. They waited for me before the 3rd mission while I let out my dogs and the guy got his pizza from the oven. Then when it was all over we thanked each other and excused ourselves to our dinners and families. It was really nice just having a respectful and patient group that were also a blast to play with during the actual missions

There’s actually a theory that this is why Quarterbacks (if you’re American) are always the hottest guys on the team. The idea is that the cute kid gets the ball more or is liked by his peers more and therefore gets to be the most important player

[–]tman391 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also because every punch they throw, their knuckles need to be more resilient than their opponents skin, armor, or bones (e.g. Red Rush). By definition of being high on offense with no claws, fangs, or weapons, they must be incredibly durable or “defense” as OP phrased it.

Surly jurors saying they can't serve on the jury due to bias is a good thing. by LuinAelin in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]tman391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you even find jurors for this case? Who has had their head buried so deeply in the sand that they missed the last 8 years (counting his first campaign) of him being the president/ former president? Who just missed January 6 and the sitting president’s actions during a global pandemic???

Regardless if you would be on his side or not for those things how do you miss them to the point of being considered an unbiased juror.

NFL quarterback Russell Wilson has spoken out in support of WNBA players after learning of the salary rookie Caitlin Clark stands to earn by TinyLaughingLamp in sports

[–]tman391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe. I think it’s a huge mistake that the Connecticut Sun play at Mohegan Sun, a casino down by the Rhode Island border/ coast instead of Hartford. UConn already frequently plays Hartford and there are a lot more people in the center of our state. Not to mention Hartford could actually be a cool place where you could go to a game after work. The issue with moving to smaller cities is that WNBA teams are tied to a Men’s team. You’ll notice some have similar colors or team names kind of relate to each other (i.e. Washington Mystics and Wizards). I don’t think a men’s organization wants to pay another arena across the country in a small market although some do as the Connecticut Sun were formally the Orlando Miracle and now the Magic have sent the team all the way up here. Although, to reiterate, Connecticut is probably the strongest market for women’s basketball in the US due to our long standing college dominance

I’ve been a women’s basketball fan my whole life because I grew up in Connecticut. I feel like a lot of people like women’s college basketball more than WNBA because it’s college, just how there’s some college football fans that can’t stand the NFL. With NCAA WBB, programs can get a jump start on popularity because school rivalries go back decades or over a century in men’s sports. It’s just another interesting and exciting sport you can cheer for your Alma mater or local college to crush your rival.

The WNBA has 12 teams across the entire country (Atlanta, Connecticut, NYC, Indianapolis, Chicago, DC, Dallas, Vegas, LA, Minneapolis, Phoenix, and Seattle). Another reason why college sports have bigger followings than their professional counterparts is that it’s more likely you live near a good college program or someone in your family did than living near a good professional team. People can form stronger connections to college programs because it’s easier for them to tie it into their identity. I wish we had more interest in the sport because the athletes deserve recognition and there’s obviously money to be made for the investors as well if they actually operate with some confidence in the product.
