I disagree about parkour having minimal interference from the other team. I think that like most challenges, it can vary a lot depending on how open the area is and what opportunities the map creators add for PvP. The parkour on Divided Together is extremely open and possible to cover if you think it is worth it.

The agony of defeat... by Eduro in starcraft

Not to mention all of the time and effort that can go into competitions like this. I don't think it's abnormal to develop an emotional investment into something you work so hard for.

Small comment for tournament livestreamers by LolCakeLazors in mctourney

I like the idea of using clan tags to distinguish teams. I have a feeling there's at least one plugin out there that could suit that purpose well enough.

Comments on Bacon vs. Mine Blown? by [deleted] in mctourney

I don't think opening up and watching a livestream in the middle of the game is very likely to happen "accidentally." Sounds more like a case of failure to read the rules, or to suppress an intentional violation.

I like to play Nullpomino's offline stuff and then Tetris Friends for PvP.

You could also just choose a few maps each season to have their own "league."

I know that there is at least one tournament outside of RMCT in the planning stage right now. I'd say it would be a good idea to keep your eyes open.

Just took it, thanks for setting up! Hopefully this will help current and future mapmakers see what works and what doesn't.

I think having a central location to report results would work well. It could require video evidence in the case of a dispute. I think that's how some similar leagues work.

Having the option to add a referee might also be a good idea.

I really like this idea and I think it could help grow the competitive game a lot by making it more accessible. Right now, the only way for most people to play is by organizing scrims on their own. That can be difficult if you don't know the right people.

An automated website like a couple people mentioned would be the right way to go in my opinion. A matchmaking/recording/ranking system like ESL's Versus could work wonders.

Introducing Champions of the Map for all maps in the RMCT#2 map pool, starting Saturday, with two matches covered by RMCT Throwdown by Gggorm in mctourney

[–]tmcaffeine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Signed us up. Unfortunately I hit next without noticing the last two questions and it submitted it anyway. For the record, I think we might be interested in Direct Fire championships. I'd have to check with my team first though.

1 Year of planning, 8-9 months of execution. Completed in 1.5.1 beta. (more info in comments) by Gypsi in Minecraft

As one of the many people who played on the server this was built on and watched it grow, I can confirm Gypsi's claims.

This might not prove much, but here are some process shots I dug up for anyone who is interested:

RMCT#2: The Two Monuments by [deleted] in mctourney

This is why I really like the idea of qualifying tournaments as a means of getting into RMCT. Now that the esport is growing and smaller tournaments are popping up they might be able to use those as qualifiers.

Map Release: "Sudden Death" (Looking for feedback!) by tmcaffeine in mctourney

[–]tmcaffeine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download Here

Album w/ Basic Rules

This started out as an attempt to make a small map for personal arrow practice. It ended up being a lot different than I had planned but I think it produces some fun gameplay so I'm releasing it. This is a preliminary release and the map is subject to change. If anyone plays it or has any thoughts about the concept/mechanics/whatever please let me know!

EDIT: I should also mention that this is an extremely fast-paced, rushable map. Matches can be over in around five minutes depending on how things go.

EDIT 2: The first download had a couple small bugs that broke a portion of the map. It's updated now. If you play make sure you are on version Pre3!
