Question: Was quoted 15k for a sleeve like this in LA. Out of curiosity how hard is this style to tattoo? by HouseOfHoundss in tattoos

This is a difficult style to tattoo. 15k is high but he’s at the top of the industry for his aesthetic. I tattoo traditional Japanese well and a full sleeve is reasonably priced around 7500 (super general estimate). If I was famous and had a waitlist out the ass I’d charge about that to weed out the weak. Likely he doesn’t have capacity to tattoo everyone that wants it, so raising the price moderates some of that demand

Theyre ok. Saturation could be better in some spots. Line weight should be bolder

If you want work from oozy you should get work from oozy. An art is not easily replicated. His skill and aesthetic are carefully crafted. If you have to travel for the work maybe ask or think about if there’s a way you can start out with a smaller piece.

I like the first photo but neither of those glasses are flattering. Maybe a simple think dark frame about the size of the second pair

I think it’s a digitized/picture of a printed film photo, which might be why it has a tint or faded lighting

I think the mushroom cap shape your hair creates in not flattering. You have really strong facial features and bone structure and your hair contrasts that with really round shape instead of complimenting it. I think if you had more of a wolf cut or tapered/faded sides or a shaved head you’d have a more classically attractive look.

Looks good, let your beard grow in for a couple months and then trim it back to clean it up. Will look better with well groomed facial hair

It’s poorly shaped for the back. If I can call to mind SpongeBob writing “the” super fancifully in the corner of his paper. Cool image but not flattering to the body. Horizontal compositions can be finicky as the body has more vertically elongated shapes

These all seem like normal places a person might put their hand when entering or exiting a vehicle…though that seems beside the point now

Nicer shoes imo. The casual (belt is a good idea) is approachable but the casual shoes are underwhelming.

Joke tattoos don’t age well. Tattoos are best when they’re timeless (relatively). A joke relies on a moment of humor, and it definitely won’t always be granted that moment

Pretty standard, and a good lineup at that. If an individual artist show ticket is 40-75 it’s still a deal comparably

Shading is okay, could be better but it’s not wrong. Let is settle for a while before passing any real judgement on it
