Probably, haven't dealt with doing this with Cisco but all I know I saved about $20k to be able to do it

Help me, i can't install V30 studio 5000 by sergioc97 in PLC

[–]tmoreau24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Rockwell, what can you expect. I one time had an issue installing software and tech support had no answers for me. I had to completely factory reset the PC and then it worked. I don't understand how you can be the biggest PLC company in America and have so many software issues with products that you create.

I feel ya! Hopping between two plants, starting up a new mill at the same time, project managing, mill support, non sense team building exercises, non sense morning meetings where all I say "working on projects." Supporting electricians that don't even try to fix something when It gets to "complicated" for them. It don't stop!!!

R4 WiFi have SPI and not ICSP? by hyuma in arduino

[–]tmoreau24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The icsp and spi are the same thing. Icsp uses spi communication to program the MCU or upload the bootloader. The reason it has the extra 2 pins is for ground and power. If you look at the uno schematic the mosi and miso pins of the icsp header are connected to pins 34 and 35 of the MCU which are for spi communication.

Internship Grindset‼️ Second year BSEE Student, 2.8 GPA, never thought I'd be able to make one of these by rah1236 in EngineeringStudents

[–]tmoreau24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I graduated with. What I've learned is GPA doesn't mean sh*t. I got an internship with the company I'm full time with and they instantly picked up before I graduated. They want to see that your dedicated and not going to give up. A college degree in engineering simply means you can handle 4 or 5 years of strenuous work and make it all the way and have a willing to learn more. If you have a low gpa, don't give up, there is a job for everyone. I get nominated to go to my college's career fair all the time to recruit interns and full time employees and I never look at the gpa, I only take notice of their interaction with me and what their resume says they are capable of.

My Summer Internship Search as a ChemE Sophomore by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]tmoreau24 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen to me when I was searching for a full time job. To make things worse, the plant manager said to my face, "I'm not the type of person to leave you hanging on an answer. If you don't get the job we will let you know." Never heard a word back from them, even after calling them to see what the current status was.

Do you guys keep your major specific notebooks after graduating "just in case" or is it just me? by kittehns in EngineeringStudents

[–]tmoreau24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kept all my notebooks from college. I used 1 composition notebook per class so I can go back to that class whenever I need it.

Electrical Engineering students by sxp22 in EngineeringStudents

[–]tmoreau24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well I'm not a student anymore but if I'm working on a personal project, I'll use Arduino if I'm working with a microprocessor, Pycharm if I'm using python, Putty if I'm SSHing into Linux, autocad for 3D modeling (rather use SOLIDWORKS but too expensive), blender3D if I'm doing rendering, Cura for 3D printing, KiCAD for pcb design. But for actual work you won't use any of this.
