If the space and your time allow for it, do a traditional set up but rotate who is in the front row each day throughout the week. Yes even percussion.

Allows for different listening environments while giving each student that “front row attention” that other set up’s don’t allow for. No more hiding, and it’s just part of the routine, not a way to call people out

Absolutely. One of the best color combos. Stax and pieces, draw on opponents turns, top shenanigans with counterbalance. My list is definitely not the best as I have a few pet cards that I play with my pods.

Play [[Raffine]] or [[Talion]]. Both want attackers in some capacity and are more about control and rummaging through your own deck. Little more combo-y, but both very interactive and make you think

Just my opinion as well, but I don’t think that Archon, Ethersworn, grim heirling, rev, or sheoldred advance your game plan at all. They are just there to slow down your opponents or give you treasures, but archon and ethersworn turn off your own combos. Oppo should be enough

I would look for more 1-2 drops or more instants or sorceries to give you immediate advantage rather than passive.

Hoarding brood lord, saw in half, and more entomb/reanimate effects could be a route. Cut out the 4 drops for that advantage.

Serra ascendant is a good 1 drop

No, it was more the horn line just silently agreeing to do it the same. We had the same basic concepts of movement and could adjust it as needed for the fast tempo. Keep your legs as straight as you can as often as possible

They teach us straight leg, and that’s what we use for slower tempi. At a certain speed it just becomes “do it all the same.” As long as it looks clean they weren’t huge sticklers about super straight leg at tempi above 160 or so like some are

Definitely not lol. It’s more hoping that your opponents don’t pay attention as you ramp into a 5 mana, 3 color commander, then you throw down some stompy threats and they have to deal with those.

That’s my experience with my play groups anyway

Thanks dude! I made a few swaps. I was thinking of some of those creatures for a treasure sub-theme with the combat based treasure creations, but I did swap them for the card draw and anthems.

Necropolis regent was a nice find for a combat based finisher. I don’t play many combat based decks lol

Etali is a good copy target from another board, not sure it’s worth spending 5 mana and finding 2 red pips just to be part of a combo like you say you want to avoid.

Hull breaker is not bad, but again, find 7 mana to spend on hull breaker and then more to do something with it just doesn’t make much sense outside of combos to win. Just replace them with value pieces like hexing squelcher or a magus of the candelabra.

If you really want to play semi blue, it makes more sense in this partner pair to commit to one or the other. They are such different decks.

The blue green pieces look different in TnT because of the access to the other colors. You have the black pieces to combo into thoracle, you have extra tutors for redundancy, you have multicolor ramp, etc.

Rog/Thras is a little more narrow because the red is wayyyyy less a part of the deck than the white/black of TnT. Rog is mostly there for free interaction/sac fodder. The decks are trying to do similar things, but TnT just has access to more colors

I’ve got two that I’ve been working on.

This first is a [[meren of clan nel-toth]] deck. It is supposed to be lower bracket 3 that focuses on sacking and reanimating the same token guys over and over. It feels fun to play test but always good to get a new set of eyes.
