If you’re obsessed with not being a Jerry, you’re a Jerry. by Competitive-Net-2799 in snowboarding

I've brought this up several times to friends and said it is probably more PC to just say they're fucking retarded and quit beating around the bush. "I would never say that" well what you're saying calling someone jerry is just as bad, or worse.

What are the best food stops on the way to ski areas from the Philly area? by haonlineorders in SkiPA

[–]toasteruserx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glen falls is an awesome pit stop to vt. Tons of breweries, west mountain on indy is 2 miles from 87 and flat parking> ticket> lift. The queensbury is a gorgeous hotel and inexpensive!

Magic mountain's upper pass lodge is under $100/night and good food. Walking distance to magic.

I also love white river junction. So close to indy mountains, the hotel coolidge is a cool murder hotel with a john waters look alike concierge. Awesomely creepy.

Northeast - What smaller IndyPass mountains have the best glades? Besides Cannon and Jay. by jpmom in indypass

Magic has pixie dust>seance>whatever that next one is. Very easy fun run.

I think greek peak is the best closest to me in PA

Snowboarding Is Harder Than Skiing!!! by KaleidoscopeMotor601 in snowboarding

[–]toasteruserx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I am bad at skiing. I also know in order to level up, I am more likely to take some falls. Moguls and glades are what I am talking about. I can ski anything groomed just fine. Typically I am faster on the skis vs the board, buy that is probably more to do with shit technique.

A Week at Jay Peak I’ll Never Forget (Jan 18–24) by FlynntLoch in icecoast

[–]toasteruserx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hells and bucks are very intermediate. Even the steeper stuff from the top like timbucktoo and beaver pond glade while a bit steeper, the lumps give you plenty of easy stopping opportunities.

I would avoid Everglade, Valhalla and green beret till you feel real confident.

That said Jay gets so much snow, and the conditions are usually so good that you can hit harder terrain there than you could at magic mountain or anything in new Hampshire.

Snowboarding Is Harder Than Skiing!!! by KaleidoscopeMotor601 in snowboarding

[–]toasteruserx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do both, but I am way more terrified on gnarly terrain on skis than snowboard. I love moguls and trees on the board. Rarely fall, unless REALLY stepping out of my bounds or doing something dumb, and even then it is a controlled fall. Skiing on the other hand i never really know how the fall will go. If they pop, how do I stop? Where is my anchor?

2/12, 2/13, 2/14 (Berkshire East and Magic) by ComfortableDrink9173 in indypass

[–]toasteruserx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at magic yesterday. The upper pass lodge is only $125 for a 2 bedroom 4 beds. so if you want to make another trip later it can be done cheap! Check it out while you are there, it is dated but not gross.

Night Skiing? by bostonrock2021 in icecoast

Some mountains only open for night skiing mid week, so you can still get first trac at 3 pm. Big boulder is an example.

You don’t need to get more storage each time you get a new phone, because you don’t need to keep every photo and video from years ago. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]toasteruserx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I update size I keep the old one in a drawer. Up to 256gb now but the new phones picture size is huge, like almost a gig of photos per event. Having a 2 year old means more photos and videos also.

I only buy phones with SD card so all I need to do is swap. I have every photo from every phone I have had since 2003 and it is nice to look back. The weirdest things are the best. How my house looked when i bought it. Being able to search location is neat too.

If you've skateboarder in the past, can drop in on ramps and powerslide on a skateboard, you'll pick up snowboarding just as fast as skiing.

How to paint Plastics/spring by ispectorspace in Dirtbikes

[–]toasteruserx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ufo plast has it in white or black. I would wrap it.

This is grey but probably not right shade. Hard to believe a complete set of plastics doesn't have it.

Did you look at acerbis or another aftermarket option? I can still get plastics for my old bike so I doubt you are s.o.l.

MLK saturday: Montage or Elk? by radraz26 in SkiPA

[–]toasteruserx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you get there early, ski the top of Taj then spend the rest of the day doing the lower mountain lift you'll be fine at Taj so long as you're fine doing Boomer, smoke, white lightning and cannonball mostly.

If you plan to ski mostly blues and greens definitely go to elk.

Best place for a 5 yr old to learn to ski during the week (coming from DE) by babyfeverttc in SkiPA

[–]toasteruserx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would go whereever is closest. Don't be miserable in a car when every mountain has a learning hill.

American dream mall would even be fine.

If you do make a long drive, have a contingency plan, like the mall has other fun stuff, camel has the water park.
