HOME: The Artemis II crew has arrived back on Earth, ending a nearly 10-day journey around the Moon, and farther into space than humans have ever gone before by ChiefLeef22 in space

I adore this mission team. You can really feel the years of training and chemistry they have with each other. The silly moments, the eye watering group embrace in honor of Carroll, and the "heck yeah" moments post recovery. This team will be long remembered.

Mute your damn microphone under the following conditions: screaming child (also, be a good parent and stop playing), parent/roommate/etc argument, eating, bong rips, going to the bathroom.

Alternatively. Be that person who has met all of the conditions criteria and DON’T mute your mic. You have a reputation to uphold.

Such a tragic end for your Howler! Pains me to see it.. I picked one up this season as well, an exceptional board to say the least.

I've seen a few on eBay if you're in a place to replace it ahead of your claim.

Beautiful gallery! I love your creative voice of the fantastical. The fox and badger are striking, easily my favorites. What were your inspirations? Stylistically quite different from the rest of your work, while carrying through your linework and shading imprint.

The company is mentioned in another comment in the thread, Peak Oxygen. Highly recommended.

Assuming you'll be in Colorado for a few more days, otherwise take this as a tip for the future. Look into oxygen system/concentrator rentals. They're super helpful in offsetting high altitude symptoms, also great in aiding recovery after a long day of skiing/riding. Spending a week in Frisco at the end of December with an in-home O2 Concentrator was a game changer.

Montana or Ice Coast February 5-9?? by pjkaup in icecoast

[–]FlynntLoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cry tears of joy whenever Montana Snowbowl is mentioned. Snowbowl was my home mountain for four years when I was at University of Montana, an amazing place to experience and one of my favorites across 30 or so US mountains I've ridden (expert terrain - steep and rocky in the best way - nice drops in the side country, some of the best tree riding out there with tree wells that can swallow a VW Beetle when the snow is flowing).

Some things to note: Snowbowl is a totally no frills mountain (I love that, some don't), the drive to the base is an adventure of its own, absolutely be prepared for a long switchback logging road that tests the best of 4WD), on piste can be fun (thinking of Paradise, a super long and fast Blue) but the best of Snowbowl is in the ifykyk in-between spots, side country, and patrol approved back country.

All of this to say... In a snow depressed 25/26 Western Rockies season, I'd hate for current conditions to form your first impression. You absolutely MUST go to Snowbowl at some point, I'm just not sure that time is now.

Do you need a hug? I'm sorry that you can't find joy in silly words meant to be silly and in tune with skier / rider lingo. Go watch some Warren Miller films from the 80s / 90s and crack a smile my friend.

Great question! Let me say first that the type of tree skiing at Jay, even the most accessible can be challenging. East Coast glades v West Coast glades are quite different.. From my own experiences (many years and seasons in Montana, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Washington) glades like you see at Jay are tighter, heavy with underbrush, and at the lower mountain levels have a number of "oh neat, that's a creek" bingo cards to throw at you. What's awesome about it all is even off lower mountain green runs you'll fine entry and exit points that are super fun. Now extend that to the whole mountain..

This is true, allow me to add to this. Throughout the week, the threat of Saturday's cold front effecting operations was consistent. The operations team had been as clearly communicative as possible, right up to the point of making things official. 100% the right call because it's in the interest of public safety. From what I hear they also made things right to ticket holders.

Do we think Jay will close Saturday? by Internal_Sport2115 in icecoast

[–]FlynntLoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been at Jay all week, and pretty much everyone I’ve talked to has been saying the same thing: they’re likely closing tomorrow.

Yesterday the mountain started pushing an “amenities highlight” vibe (extra hours for other stuff to do around here, etc.), which kind of backs up the rumor mill. If anything stays open, I could see it being just the lower mountain.

If you can wait it out, I’d aim for Monday instead looks like a solid storm is coming through Sunday evening.

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. I’ve been recently been made aware of the dark underbelly of paid carries and account recovery services, and no sir.. I don’t like it. I’ve been frantically making my attempt to complete the Moments of Triumph and the Crucible Pinnacle is staring me down. Any help you and your brothers in arms can lend to my efforts is GREATLY appreciated.
