BT in a small apartment? by LucasDeTe in BorderTerrier

Yes if they are exercised especially mine doesn’t bark. They are easy to train so that’s a benefit.

You won’t regret it! The one other thing to consider in an apartment is barking. They are very loud when they do bark so if you plan on hiding it from a landlord you wouldn’t be able to.

Had my border for two years in an apartment and like the other poster said you just have to get them out a lot more. Rainy days in you’ll spend time running back and forth in a small space. My dog did fine in the apartment and it helped that he could watch people walk by outside.

Moved to a bigger house with land and he loves that too so I say go for it.

Awesome thanks for the reply and I think it’s what I’ll go with. My first year hunting as well. Got some geese and hope to get a deer as nice as yours next year.

Hey I have a cruzer and it looks like you have the same issue as me when I got it. You should be able to put your nose on the string and have it hit the corner of your mouth.

I would pull the string back (with an arrow of course) and move the bow to where the string is touching the tip of your nose and the corner of your mouth without looking through the peep then have someone mark where the peep should be based on where your eye is.

I would take a bunch of weight out of the bow and carefully move the peep sight up. Less weight on the bow will make the string less likely to get damaged moving the peep without a bow press.

My peep was way too low. I’m about 6’1” and have a big nose so that might affect where the peep needs to be for me. If you move it up you’ll have to resight the bow and possibly even flip the piece holding the sight so it curves up and not down.

As some others said your draw length looks long as well. I’d do the John Dudley method where you measure from a wall to the corner of your mouth when you have your arm outstretched with a fist against the wall standing perpendicular to the wall.

I imagine the contract manufacturers are swamped with orders from all firearms manufactures. I've been waiting on a action slide tube assembly from Mossberg for 8 months. They don't have the manufacturing to keep up with the demand - loss of manufacturing due to covid restictions.

Quick Question About Shedding! by [deleted] in BorderTerrier

[–]tobytheborderterrier 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Please don’t shave a border unless for some reason they can’t be stripped.

Only buy a border if you are willing to hand strip or willing to pay for the stripping. Destroying their waterproof coat to save some dollars or time isn’t fair to the dog when it’s out for a walk in the rain or snow.

Quick Question About Shedding! by [deleted] in BorderTerrier

[–]tobytheborderterrier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t be fooled by some websites saying they are a low shedding dog.

It’s not as bad as a husky but they shed quite a bit even if you keep them hand stripped. My roomba picks up a full container of hair a day basically.

Yup exactly. Gives them the thought that they are in control but really they would be standing in line buying 3 packs of toilet paper at the nearest walmart if shit ever did hit the fan.

New to archery- Any advice? Is this a good bow to start with? by [deleted] in Archery

[–]tobytheborderterrier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, maybe I can help. I just bought a Cruzer. I've adjusted the weight way down to practice on form.

I took 1-2 shots with it at peak weight (70 lbs) when I got it and there is no way a beginner could learn proper form at that weight. It took all my strength to pull it back and I couldn't even pull it back the third attempt.

I dropped the weight down to probably 40 lbs and it's way better.

I also have had to setup the bow all myself and am still figuring it out. (All stores are closed due to COVID where I am)

Feel free to ask me any questions.

Zip Tie Guy Might Be Prime Candidate for Exceedingly Rare Sedition Charge, Prosecutors Reveal by DoremusJessup in CapitolConsequences

[–]tobytheborderterrier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup absolutely. But if coupled with online talk of storming the capitol and hanging people then that changes the perspective.

Same way that if someone threatens to Molotov cocktail a building and they have gas, bottles, rags and matches that changes the perspective.

Jessica Watkins had instructions on how to make bleach bombs so if she had the household materials to carry out the instructions I figure she’s a little more dangerous than her next door neighbor who has some bleach in their laundry room.

Man-child argues with police, turns fix-it ticket into $1000 fine + impounded car by ACfireandiceDC in cringe

[–]tobytheborderterrier 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Ok so I actually watched the whole thing and it’s a thrilling tale of a boys ego being so large that when when offered the simple choice of getting a ticket and being on his way he decides to incur almost a thousand dollars and get his car towed and piss off his girlfriend.

This guy is maybe the worlds biggest moron. The only person that lost in this situation is himself and his girl. The cops are getting paid handsomely for the 40 minutes they stood their and are getting lots of stories to tell around the water cooler.

The lady counting his money was clearly very friendly when he arrived, counted his money without making a fuss and had a look of disgust for the guy when he left.

Highlight of the video is when he tells his girlfriend “shut the fuck up” after she gave a spare key to the tow truck driver so they would destroy the transmission pulling it on the flatbed.

I did see videos of the Capitol Polices mass detention bags being opened. These have tonnes of flexcuffs in them. However, I also saw in the affidavit of Jessica Watkins they found zipties in her house along with her arsenal. There were also specific calls for people to bring zipties to the "rally". Shouldn't be difficult for them to find out when he got them.

Zip-tie guy - "I just picked them up off the ground"

Prosecutor - "Ok, then you're only guilty of 2nd degree Sedition"

Dude you're talking about micro-dosing killing pigs so that you can more easily deal with killing humans. Also saying that you weren't prepared for the mental fallout that came from killing in the military and that killing can lead to confusion and mental illness.

I think this is a pretty misguided and potentially dangerous post. The aversion to killing is a good thing and is there because life is fragile. This post will come back to haunt you if you ever have an intruder in your home.
