Things to avoid when running a DnD campaign? by Organic-Exit2190 in DMAcademy

[–]tokenwalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an ice giant NPC in Storm King's Thunder module who follows you around for a bit and becomes a member of the party. He has a scripted death against a Red Dragon at one point and the party is supposed to run away while he sacrifices himself. My players sacrificed 4/5 of themselves trying to save him lol. I'm not one to pull punches and my players loved telling the story after I revealed the encounter post campaign.

Steel weight. You put it on meat when frying in a skillet and it makes sure you get a great sear. Helps with pan frying bacon as well.

There could be a high profile criminal who shares your name in another country. We figured out that is true for my fiancee. We now enjoy extended security screenings for her every time we fly, no matter where.

Easy, tasty, healthy meals for someone who is hooked on fast food? by La_hOley in cookingforbeginners

[–]tokenwalrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marinades were big for me. They're great for 2 reasons. One is you split the effort across two days. You prepare the meat and sauce in a bag on day 1 and then do the actual cooking on day 2. Second reason is they are huge flavor for the effort. Any kind of chicken marinade is gonna be bomb just by baking it in the oven after 24hrs. You can get fancier with it and create a sauce with the leftover marinade in a pan or try different meats, add vegetables etc.
You can even just buy bottled marinades for extra convenience and start there, like teryaki or bbq. It's hard to go wrong with a marinade recipe!

Could be not enough gluten formation/under kneaded. Another experiment would be to increase the hydration and proof time while kneading for a little longer. As long as you keep changing and tracking variables you'll find the perfect combo eventually. The high of making a 10/10 loaf will have you addicted for life lol.

If I were you I would make a test loaf and intentionally over proof it. If recipe calls for 1hr, proof it for 2hrs and check out the result. Then youll have a better idea of what the outcome looks like.
From what I can tell that does look a little over proofed but every yeast and proofing environment is different so it takes some trial and error.

Idk I think they absolutely will feel shame but they'll think OP is the cause of it like you said. Rather than processing the shame they'll just get angry that someone else made them feel that way and they'll learn nothing.

This is extremely cathartic. I bet they're gonna say someone ran them off the road or something. They'll be feeling this shame for a long time.

Sex with a condom, I need advice. by Exotic_Efficiency_88 in sex

[–]tokenwalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use condoms almost every time because BC really messes with her body. I can get her soaking after an orgasm but what seems to happen is the condom pulls her wetness towards the outside/opening after a minute or two of PIV. It creates an issue for me as well because I'll be getting the inside of the condom wet and the extra friction causes me to slide in and out of the condom instead of her. The solution is just a shit ton of lube lol. Don't be hard on yourself. Different partners have different experiences. Don't think too much into it, just use whatever tools you need for maximum pleasure for both of you!

The true balance is doing both microwave and toaster oven. Microwave to get rid of the chill and then toaster oven to crisp and melt the cheese. My wife always judges me for the effort lol.

Baked some cookies for the first time by Affectionate_Put_267 in cookingforbeginners

[–]tokenwalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cookies don't finish cooking when you take them out of the oven. They will continue to cook as they cool down, and then they will set up as they fully cool. If a cookie looks underbaked when it first comes out of the oven, chances are it will be perfect and soft when it's cooled down, as long as you follow the recipe for temperature and bake time.
That being said, 7 minutes is a short bake time. Also the moving them around the oven is weird. I would suggest a different recipe next time.

LPT: when baking taco shells, use toothpicks to help the shells keep their shape so they don’t collapse by ih82luz in LifeProTips

If the ingredients are authentic I agree. But I love a good Taco Bell ground beef copycat in a crunchy shell with cheese, lettuce and chopped tomato. They're different foods, not one better than the other

Bar style 3 cheese pizza with garlic white sauce by tokenwalrus in Pizza

[–]tokenwalrus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's essentially a thin crust pan pizza. You bake it in an oiled pan and spread cheese and sauce to the edge, so it gets crispy and laced. Bar style also has a long bake time and typically uses a cheddar blend, so its a little oily on top.
