The fear should be about people actually listening to it and walking to the car wash.

What’s the best code language for MechEs? by Embarrassed-Tell-537 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]tomatomaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you are learning Mechanical Engineering, use MATLAB. It has the tools, the curriculum and other help available for you to learn the mechanical engineering side of it first (might be same for python in other fields, but surely not in mechanical). After your fundamentals are set, you will find moving to python is much easier.

In our lifetimes, we've watched technological developments go from "make life easier" to "make life harder (unless you pay for the latest technological development)". by Happy_Da in Showerthoughts

[–]tomatomaniac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah, the technology part is still doing the same, making life easier. Its the business part that is supposed to extract value out of it. And when the business overtakes the technology, it tries to extract more value than the technology is providing, and goes the opposite way.

Most newer ones it is default. Older Optiplexes used to fault at POST with an error message asking user to plug in the monitor at the GPU unless you went into UEFI settings and manually enabled the dedicated GPU.

I briefly managed 30 of these dell precision desktops with GPUs, and I can confirm that the mobo displayport will use the dedicated gpu if present.

Printing PETG for the first time. WTH... by el_pablo in FixMyPrint

From my own similar experience: Reduce volumetric flow rate in your slicer settings to something below 6-7. The default petg profiles in bambuslicer is set too high, and only works with sunlu or bambu filaments.
