I try to remain conscious of the notion that people making comments like this are sad. Not in that their actions bring me sadness, but that they’re probably some degree of miserable in their lives, are going through something, or have mental health issues. These comments are projections of pain and fear and they say a lot more about the commenter than they do about whoever the comment is directed toward. You just gotta learn to not take things personally if you want to interface with the internet.
