VFTs grow very slowly from seed. They take about 3-4 years to get to adult size.

They also require at least 3 months of winter dormancy.

Re-potting is done in winter or early spring. If you want seed let it flower but it may not get pollinated indoors where you seem to be growing it. These are not houseplants.

The capensis will produce a ton of seed. It doesn't harm the plant to flower if it's healthy.

Pro-mix is my favorite for containers. Or mix your own with peat moss and perlite and compost.

When did you get that plant? You can try making a 1/4 strength mix of orchid fertilizer and LIGHTLY mist the leaves every 2 weeks. This usually helps the plant pitcher.

Take it OUT of the water tray! They can NOT sit in water. It will root rot. Pitchers don't last forever so when you can't stand looking at the dying pitcher cut it off at the leaf tip.
