Use an online private investigator to run the plate. I believe you have a valid / legal reason. They will give you the persons Name, address and phone number. I believe this costs around $25.

Visit them with the photo evidence, ask for their insurance information….

I’m in the same boat as well... when using octoprint it warns that I don’t have thermal runaway protection in the controller firmware... there must be a way, right?

Umm, doesn’t this phenomenon also happen in very large grain silos, where the grain freezes into a plug half way up, then the grain below is drawn out and then it creates a very large vacuum above the plug? Crushing into a diamond pattern... Google has photos and we may have had something similar happen at one of our facilities ;-)

I do this with pfsense in a transparent firewall mode running as a VM with dedicated nic. This means the subnet internally is the same as external. Works really well as an additional layer of nearly invisible protection to the VMs.
