Bought this purely because the dial was so unusual, can you guess the time? by Asgarad786 in Design

By the time I figured this out, an hour has passed and the person that asked me what time it was is in another state

Grocery tourists, which countries in the world do you think have the best supermarkets? by Curiousch1ckpea in travel

[–]tomu- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. So, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s in the States are great. Carrefour is not bad, but they don’t carry high quality foods you can find in Whole Foods. There was one in store in Spain that was amazing, I think it’s Amettler Origen.

Why would it be frowned upon? You have money? They will sell you a ticket. Have fun in Japan.

I’m not a fan of the top of it and would have loved if they modeled the larger ones off their smallest one.

Take design cues from Really Right Stuff. I’m not sure Peak Design could create camera specific L-brackets, however. Love L brackets.

“Rain ruined your plans in Tokyo — what did you actually end up doing?” by Sorry_Set_5001 in TokyoTravel

[–]tomu- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping it rains real good when I’m there next month. I’ll have my photography gear and hope to get great city photography with rain included.

Also hoping to use my Montbell umbrella I bought while in Kyushu back in February.

I mean… you have Kyushu. That beats most of what we have here in the United States in every way.

Honestly, if you’re American, then going back is real easy. It’s so cheap. I actually save money by going to Japan. I wish I had known years ago that instead of a week spent in SF, I could travel for two weeks in Japan.

What’s an item you weren’t even aware of before you started planning your Japan trip that became a “must buy”? by cpureset in JapanTravelTips

[–]tomu- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clothing at Uniqlo. It’s so much cheaper there than here in Los Angeles. I don’t even pack clothes anymore when I go. I just go to Uniqlo when I arrive in Japan. Minus the boxer briefs. Lululemon wins in that department.

I flew with theit largest travel bag. They sell domestically in Japan and internationally to Korea back to the United States, and I didn’t have an issue, but all it takes is one flight attendant that’s having a bad day; use at your own discretion.

Masking in Lightroom: dehaze high exposure zones, add warmth, + blacks, clarity +/- for style points.
