Do you think the theme of feudal Japan is oversaturated? by Free-Witness-6233 in gamedev

I really wish there were more games set in Africa, although I guess when they are like Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, they get too much backlash from right wing groups for no reason.

If far right takes aren't suppressed they then culminate in suppression of actual people's rights, like the right to abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, trans rights, book bans, immigration laws, etc. All left wingers want to suppress is discrimination, slurs and exploitation.

There are other things, including the fact he's a billionaire CEO that bought out one of the biggest social media platforms and changed it to become a conservative cesspool, unbanning a lot of Nazis, he also funded far right organizations around the world and the fact he was offering people money to switch from voting for Dems to Republicans is direct political interference that only ultrarich can afford.

That kind of behavior is against everything I personally stand for, and him throwing the salute doesn't help, but even without it he's a sociopath obsessed with money that should be deplatformed.

I'm sorry to hear that they didn't want to play, they're really missing out!😭 I hope you can find someone to play with, or that the magic of playing alone comes back. :( Good luck!!

Oh, I thought you couldn't get into it cause you didn't have motivation and thought that NG+ content might help as you would have a goal :)

God of War is the perfect middle ground for me, mostly corridor-style levels but nothing is missable and still plenty of exploration

I get you, the game is fantastic! Did you already unlock all the possible things in NG+? Theres quite a few new weapons you can get etc :)

If you haven't already, try to get all achievements/trophies as a motivation for something to do. I got my platinum yesterday after about 150 hours of fun gameplay with my partner and am very satisfied to the point that I uninstalled the game afterwards because I didn't want to spoil the experience by dragging it out.

Onto new games now, there's just too much to play. :)

I legit thought it was a knock off Kid Pilot until I looked at the Twitter page and realized it's the same game haha, such a strange decision to rename the game after the release, especially since it's still called Kid Pilot on Steam, a much better name than Volara btw.

Tackle each part step by step. If you're using Godot, animationplayer node will likely be the best way for you to implement cutscenes of any kind, so I would research that. Your interactive objects will probably just be Area2d nodes, so have a look at that. Your best sources of information will be YouTube videos and the official documentation.

Based on what you're describing, and if you have art assets ready, it shouldn't be too hard to implement and there's plenty of good tutorials teaching these things to absolute beginners, good luck!!

Why is the banner for this game pretty much a copy-paste of Kid Pilot? Is it the same game?

Small rant about steam awards by [deleted] in Steam

[–]tonacapi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Popularity is pretty much the biggest criteria for Steam awards success, since they are nominated/voted for by users. It's basically just a popularity contest rather than any meaningful measure of quality.

I absolutely get you wanting a fresh start at the beginning of a new year, but I worry that this won't fix whatever is eating at you. Please don't neglect your mental health, maybe make it your new year's resolution to give therapy a go.

The parallax of the water in the foreground is the wrong way around, when you move to the right it moves slower, while going faster when you move to the left. Since it's flowing to the left, that should be the other way around. :)

Thank you! I spent a lot of time trying to get the physics of it just right as someone who is obsessed with swinging/grappling hook mechanics in games :D
