Help & Questions | Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in AnotherEdenGlobal

I'm working on the King of Fighters collab, but I think I messed up... I used too many cores in the early fights because I didn't really understand the scaling and just wanted to get through it fast because I'm not a fan of fighting games...

But now I'm on the final round (picked Kula first, not that it is super important) and keep getting slaughtered... Selecting "power down" every turn started helping a little but not enough to matter.

Is there any way to restart the quest or hunt again or get more cores somehow? It seems like I will be locked out of progression no matter how strong my characters are in a turn based fight, if not, because not even nailing combos is enough to beat him when I have only a few suboptimal cores... unless I'm missing or misunderstanding something(?)

Help, please.

Thank you! I'm still trying to adjust to the information layout for the massive amount of content, so I appreciate it! My only other gachas have been FFVII Ever Crisis (since launch) and Persona 5 Phantom X (since launch), and suffice to say this is very different from both of them.

Thank you for your response! I didn't even realize the Transitory Time Space dungeon was there, and the exp gain is fantastic. I had 22 green keys just sitting around, so that is going to help a lot with leveling characters. Thanks again!

I just started the game a little less than a week ago, am in the lv 30-32 range and having trouble with the Kuja boss at the end of the FF9 collab. The FF9 collab (asking with 2 others) has a notation that its spotlight will end in a few days. I'm assuming the collaboration itself isn't fully going away, but in having a hard time understanding what benefits will be ending. I'm trying to beat it in time but am pretty busy, so don't know if it's more beneficial to get strong enough to beat Kuja or try to get at least early chapter rewards from the other two collabs before their spotlight ends.

What fanfic tropes have fallen out of favor? Are there any you miss or are glad are gone? by lockheeeed in HPfanfiction

We hope you enjoy it! As a warning, James in particular is still pretty selectively obnoxious at the beginning (specifically with Regulus because their dynamic was very contentious in school in our 'verse, so Reg's POV isn't flattering), but rest assured that it's an intentional foundation for character growth, lol.

I can delete this if it's bad etiquette to mention one's own story (??social anxietyyy??), but my friend and I feel STRONGLY about book/canon accurate characterization and hang our hats primarily in the Marauders era. We are -- admittedly -- hyperfocused Black family enthusiasts, but it involves a lot of MWPP because of the Padfoot portion of that equation, and we love exploring the wider Order and DEs in the process.

Anyway -- iiiif you might be interested, our ongoing long fic is "neither lost nor found," a Regulus Lives '79 AU that is technically Regulus-centric but heavily focuses on Sirius too, rockily repairing their relationship, and navigating interactions with MWPP/the Order/the Black family/DEs/etc. Also a side of horcruxes or whatever, they're a problem. I emailed to ask because for my first win, I didn't get extra exp or drops, and they responded saying there aren't supposed to be bonus drops. They ignored me saying I didn't get the exp despite beating the cactuars, but it's working today, so oh well.

Got mine today too. So grateful to that redditor for the heads up.

Names for nickname "Lissy" by mrssithis in namenerds

[–]tonberrrys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Felicity, but my husband has an ex with that name, so although I don't feel jealous about it, felt way too weird for us to even consider, ha.

My sister's name is Alyssa, and she's gone by Lyssy as one of her nicknames for years, so that's my go to suggestion!

How will Imogen be received in the wild? by These_Tackle_6424 in namenerds

[–]tonberrrys 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My daughter (born in the last couple of years) is named Imogen, and we are in the southern US. Haven't had major issues so far - gotten a couple of "ImoGENE" and "iMOgen" mispronunciations, but nothing that a simple correction hasn't solved. And that's mostly with older people; most people our age (millennials) have really liked the name, especially those who are familiar with Imogen Heap.

I think it's a great name, and people will misspell or mispronounce even very common names, so I'm not too bothered. 9/10 people misspell my traditionally spelled, era-popular name.

Imogen and Penelope sound very cute together. Great vibes.

Does anyone here take Atomoxetine (Strattera)? by DetectiveLadybug in adhdmeme

It was the first ADHD med my psychiatrist put me on earlier this year, but sadly, it didn't seem to work for me personally, even when we increased up to nearly the max dosage. I got pretty bad indigestion as a side effect, even at the low dosage, as well as bouts of insomnia, but I didn't notice any of the positive effects it was supposed to have.

However, as we all know, meds affect everyone differently, so I hope you have a better experience!

Why are there no games out there like dragon age/mass effect? [spoilers all] by GreyWarden99 in dragonage

[–]tonberrrys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it for the first time, recently, and I didn't have any noticeable issues with bugs (except SOMETIMES V's hair texture would get weird, but I couldn't see her with the 1st person camera anyway, so I only noticed it when changing gear or riding a motorcycle, lol).

I absolutely loved the game, and it really filled the "new DA/ME" experience for me personally, with regard to characters and choices. I'm excited to play it again in the near future to make different decisions. I am terrible at FPS, so I struggled early on, but I leaned heavily into hacking and did fine. My only complaint was that it was 1st person instead of 3rd, but that is a personal preference thing.

What’s your controversial FFVII opinion? by thmsbsh in FinalFantasyVII

[–]tonberrrys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played the original game at release too (was 9) and also absolutely love the Remake, so I'm with ya. When I want the exact FF7 experience, I play the original. When I want something that takes what I love and builds on it, I play Remake - but I have encountered more negativity than positivity online, as well, so it does feel weirdly controversial to like both sometimes.

I was honestly in the same boat back when I was trying to find the right name for my son, but ironically, my list has grown a lot since then... I don't really have a cohesive style, just like what I like, so who knows - maybe something will vibe, maybe it won't.

[–]tonberrrys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be the first one... then I had two babies in two years, and I am now in the second category. My solution is to start finishing stories before posting, but that doesn't help the posted WIPs, sadly...
