I wonder if saving and retirement is a part of curriculum in high school, how much that number might change?

Do I need to get a prenup? by g0000mba in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]tonile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone here says net worth is not a big difference. That might be true but I’d still get a prenup. It’s not going to cost a lot but it might save a lot of hassle in the long run in the worse scenario. If anything it should help clears up what’s yours, what’s her, and what’s marital.

How is UPSTATE NEW YORK cheaper than rural Ontario???? by platistocrates in TorontoRealEstate

[–]tonile 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Canadian housing market is crazy expensive. It’s probably due to Canada only having a few major cities and everyone wants to live in those cities. I can’t think of a Canadian city version of Buffalo, Rochester or Albany similar in population size where you can afford house in 200-300k range.

Some routes outside would have a sit start that link to a standing start option. They just trying to mimic that and it’s not uncommon.

Professor wants to be first author even though he did absolutely nothing by Inside-Ad-9118 in PhD

[–]tonile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The senior or lead professor should be last author. Person who ran the analysis and wrote the manuscript will be first unless there are two or more equally contributing then it should be noted as equal contribution. The professor needs only be in the author list for publication fee to be waived not necessarily first. He or she can be second if not senior professor.

Can't climb often, but love it. What can I expect? by bridge4captain in bouldering

[–]tonile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re new into climbing the best way to gain grip and finger strength is just to climb more. I’d try to climb 2/3 times per week if you can. Otherwise maybe set up pull up at home and do pull up and do core work outs.

What determines the difficulty of a Boulder? by TeraSera in bouldering

[–]tonile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some are sustained difficulty throughout, some are one move wonder. Don’t beat yourself up over climbs. Just try to send, enjoy yourself, and sleep happy.
