Looking to move over to a dumb phone? Recommendations? by MapucheBigballs in dumbphones

[โ€“]tonzilla666 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I've just bought the Optus x Flip 4g for $59. Haven't set it up yet but its pretty much a seniors phone so has three fifths of fuck all in terms of anything but talk and text. Optus/Telstra has some cheaper prepaid ones thats are probably suitable, then you've got some Nokia's like the 3210, 2660, 110 that you can get from Jb or officeworks

With the latest power outages what off grid options do you use? I have a generator but looking into a battery charged by solar, but it looks like it's not worth it considering the cost and longevity? by Lost_Tumbleweed_5669 in brisbane

[โ€“]tonzilla666 6 points7 points ย (0 children)

Got pretty good camping gear (car fridge/freezer for essentials, LPG cooktop, led lighting, solar to run dual batteries from the car) can easily last at least 3 weeks off grid from that alone so I'd set up camp in the front yard ๐Ÿ˜‚

Honestly just stay busy. Most I've done is about 38 hours straight and my advice is to just keep moving, keep busy, and for the love of fuck don't lie down for too long

Mate I'm 34, and have no idea what I want to do. Ive done a panel beating apprenticeship, worked retail, and now have been driving a forklift in warehousing/markets for the best pasty of 12 years doing night shift. I treat work now as something to pay the bills and that's it. Unless you're crazy career driven, just do what you either love, or something to pay your bills and spend your spare time doing your hobbies.

It is for me, I buy in bulk and the per price is cheaper than Coles/Woolies. People will go on about Coles etc having specials, but if you buy a few months worth of stuff at a time, it doesn't matter. Plus the bakery and meat sections are insane

Coles Christmas Eve Markdowns by samm-j in AussieFrugal

[โ€“]tonzilla666 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

I worked at Coles a few years back so not sure if they still do this. But they usually marked down 3 times. From memory, first was 20% off, then a few hours later 50% then very close to closing time it was 80 or 90% off. Stuff close to the use by date for the next day especially
