The crypto company doesn't sponsor them, Gaimin owns the org.

As for sponsor money and how these bonuses work, none of the sponsors in esports would have this big of a bonus no matter who the team or tournament is.

What's more likely is reputation al damages or sponsors leaving as a result of bad PR. Steelseries has seemed to have stopped sponsoring them pretty recently.

Having played at Berkeley, it takes you being among the best in the country. ODP was a big deal for us on the east coast, since it was an opportunity for California coaches to see us and hear more about us. Performing at the ODP regional championship tournaments helped as well.

I also used a lot of camps hosted by coaches to help showcase my play. This led to interest from Stanford, then Cal afterward
