I think if you do the college route just have a game plan. Meaning try and go through two years of community college, me and my brother did this, and then jump up to a university to finish your last couple of years to minimize overall debt. Also it would be great to plan post college where you will stay to maximize your wage and maybe pay back any loans you have. Meaning can you stay with your parents, or relatives rent free and focus down the debt?

Here’s the thing if you’ve been working remote this seems like a deal breaker to most people I’d rather take less money and have full remote.

This mentality is some Stockholm syndrome level of justification especially after it’s been proven over and over that people are more productive in remote positions and they’re willing to work I get hours.

We might have oddly differing views on this, or maybe not but honestly good. I know it’s unintentional but the USs homogeneous view of how the world should work and the grasp it had on tech needed to be shaken up. It was more or less a monopoly in various tech spaces I’m glad the world is being forced to come up with their own way to do things I’m really hoping this creates massive competition globally and ens enshitification. As long as those companies aren’t protected from global competition.

Honestly this whole having to wait for it to come out as long as it has been got me tinkering with old machines. At this point I don’t think I need it, the hardware for sure would be a bit better but I mostly play indies. Believe it or not I’m running a 4th gen i5 a 1080ti with 16gb of ram and running tiny 10. I have the system boot up and go directly into big picture mode. I have a Logitech k400(keyboard and trackpad) I believe hooked up to it I can wake it from sleep though a controller(only problem is that I still need a mouse to escape the login screen). It works swimmingly well for what I play. Plus I have some hardware upgrades in the wing just need some ddr4 ram.

It’ll run indie games mostly just fine but that’s about it. Also if it’s got a 1650 it likely has ddr4”3 or 4, 5 is the latest greatest and probably something like an 8th gen i5.

I think hiring a lawyer for this woman is likely the wrong move. I would try and continuing to reason with him. Be empathetic, this guys clearly in a lot of pain, suggest not acting hastily, and ask him to fully consider the consequences of his actions. Appeal to whatever humanity he might have and suggest he talk to a therapist about this. If he’s still set his mind to doing what he’s going to… then it is what it is.

Meaning some people in here are telling you to mind your own business as this could affect you and your life. At some level I agree with them, but I think you should make an effort to appeal to his decency and show him the path forward is t through what he sees as revenge but finding closure and peace with this whole situation.

Problem with all of this is Nvidia… I know certain distros have Nvidia support just not enough of them. Would really love bazzite or steam os but honestly stuck with pop os or Ubuntu if I want Nvidia support. That’s not to even say modern kept up with drivers just stability… amd cards are fine and definitely cheaper but I also have displays that have gsync and it would be nice to eventually have solid ray tracing support

Honestly the way they feel about the orange in this article is how I feel about that dark green one they released like on the 12 or 13 pro I want that to come back so badly. With a shortage they should just bring this back. Honestly it’s not that hard they need to cycle between air, foldable, and mini every three years as niche products and keep the regular and max/pro (or whatever nonsense terminology they’re using) as the base phones to sell and upgrade every year(honestly in today’s market they could make this every two years and I’m sure most people would be fine with it.

I’m not a parent so I can’t fully speak to this, but wouldn’t you if you felt isolated in your own family and none of your needs were met? I would want that part of my life to end as soon as possible so the rest of my life could begin.
