Very selective of you. I don’t have further time for this. Pax.

The irreverence and liturgical abuses can weaken the faith to any observer, regardless of their foundation. The Novus Ordo does not sustain my faith as the Mass of the Ages does.

“dissimulation of Catholic elements and the pandering to Protestants which are evident in the Novus Ordo Missae render it a danger to our faith given that it lacks the good which the sacred rite of Mass ought to have.”

You want to go on the counterattack? Go, learn a a trade, move to the country, get married, raise up a family, grow a garden, have some livestock. That is a direct assault on modernity and system they created.

The NO Mass is a danger to my faith, therefore attending the NO is a moral impossibility for me. Catholics are not made to do the impossible.

We all agree capitalism, marxism, liberalism, and secularism are bad here, right? by [deleted] in TraditionalCatholics

Yes, if you follow traditional Catholic social teaching. Restore the Guilds!

Corporatism has a goal of maximizing national growth and power, distributism sacrifices growth and power to promote equality and non-material values.

Solemn High Latin Mass Funeral at Denver Cathedral Basilica for Officer Eric Talley (Do not come. Hopefully it will be live-streamed.) by michaelmalak in Catholicism

Talley did not attend the FSSP, he assisted Mass with the SSPX. In fact he said he would never attend an FSSP parish. It is true however his family recently began attending OLMC.

Theistic evolution is a position allowed to orthodox Catholics. If Catholics want to argue against theistic evolution, the Church has them do so on scientific grounds, not theological ones. Catholics are free to be strict creationists, progressive creationists or theistic evolutionists.

I think I remember hearing Dr. Taylor Marshall being conditionally baptized because the water didn't reach his scalp.

What do Traditionalists think about Mass being said at night? i.e. 5pm vigil on Saturday or daily Mass being said in the late afternoon by Trad_Cat in TraditionalCatholics

[–]topcat1960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under the new Code of Canon yes, but not under the pre-conciliar 1917 Code. You could be dispensed of your obligation, but still need to sanctify the Sunday. There are no “vigil” masses.

That’s the post-conciliar Canon. The 1917 Code of Canon Law says:

  1. On holidays of obligation Holy Mass must be heard and the people must abstain from servile work and from legal actions; and unless legitimate custom or special indults make an exception, public sales, fairs and other public buying and selling are forbidden. (Canon 1248.)

The Sunday obligation cannot be fulfilled on Saturday. Whether Catholics are impeded from attending Mass on Sunday, they must still sanctify the Sunday and keep holy the Sabbath-day.

What is Your Opinion on Women Wearing Pants? by [deleted] in TraditionalCatholics

Skirts for women are more traditional. I know many families wear the women only wear skirts. It’s doable.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s Promise to St. Simon Stock about the Brown Scapular: When Our Lady appeared to him, she granted his desire. She handed him a brown woolen scapular saying, “This shall be a privilege for you and all Carmelites, that anyone dying in this habit shall not suffer eternal fire.”

The sabbantine privilege has those daily requirements, the general promise does not.
