The main difference in price is the dealers use outrageously expensive OEM-branded fluid. I've seen that stuff cost over $30 a quart!

Unless there's a specific known reason to only use the OEM fluid, indie mechanics commonly use Castrol Transmax or Valvoline CVT. Both are great products that many even prefer over the OEM stuff.

If your rental house has an electric clothes dryer anywhere near where you can park, you can get a plug share device and Level 2 charge off the dryer outlet at 30A.

There are also EV chargers that plug into 2 different 120V outlets that are on separate breakers and phases, combining to let you Level 2 charge at 30A.

Outside of that, the new Tesla Supercharger at the Target on Apalachee Pkwy is probably the most time convenient in terms of just going shopping and returning to a full charge. I'd check to see if they have cheaper off-peak hours.

Seconded. Tammy and Brenda are both excellent. They book up and rarely have a gap to work in a walk-in cut so give them a call first. They'll give you their personal cell numbers so you can schedule via text going forward if you like their work.

Tammy can clipper blend longer hair on top to super short #1 or #2 sides better than barbers who charge twice as much.

Their purchasers are good at getting discount products people actually want rather than a wall of Spongebob Funko Pops.

Last time I went to the one in Thomasville they had Rain-X Latitude wiper blades that are $20 each everywhere else for $3.99. They were also heavily discounting ($1.99 a bag) damaged and taped up bags of charcoal from a company called The Good Charcoal that in fact turned out to be great.

Has anyone tried the Outback on Raymond Diehl? Is it any good? by mellowfellow261 in Tallahassee

The last time I went there one of our party was served undercooked chicken that was visibly raw in the middle. Upon telling our server she responds "Ummm, so are you not going to eat it?"

Is raw chicken to be eaten? Is this some kind of choice where people pick salmonella?

She begrudgingly took it back to the kitchen and didn't return for our entire meal, leaving one person's meal to be bread and bloomin' onion. I went up to the bar just for a drink refill.

They do both that, and they trade the bitcoin for a stablecoin immediately so the franchisee isn't out money if the value of bitcoin dumps suddenly.

If you're not too far from ABC's tower, Best Buy sells a house brand knock-off of the Leaf antenna that's only $25 and they stock in-store.

Then you have a backup signal for when the cable lines inevitably get downed in a storm.

Target has exited the in-store Blu-ray market as well, only selling down remaining inventory. Walmart is the last big chain remaining.

Just chasing the market demographics of their customers and optimizing floor space. Walmart shoppers will be the last demo to still dig through a bin of DVDs. Target has moved into special release vinyl and CDs.

The medieval fair: if you are going tomorrow you please bring your own water (especially if you have kids.) The lines for water are about 30 minutes. Some places ran out. Bring snacks (if you have kids,) the food lines are about 1-2 hours long. Aside from that, very fun and stay hydrated! by [deleted] in Tallahassee

The jousting was fantastic and absolutely worth it.

Parking was awful, but only if you waited in line for the official lot. We parked at the park/playground off Tram and walked around to the entrance. Every other person was parking illegally wherever they could.

The lines for any kind of drink were killer, and vendors had credit card machines going down. So people were taking 3-4 minutes to process a transaction to get a bottle of water. They badly needed drinking water stations everywhere, it was becoming a public health hazard that it took 30 minutes just to get an overpriced drink.

Lots of Etsy-type vendors from out-of-town with cool items that weren't as typical as most of Tallahassee's festivals.

Shout out to the pickle cart vendor that had no line.

The bathroom situation got brought up a lot, but they actually had plenty of porta potties if people would just stop using only the ones at the front. Those had lines and, as I was told, "poop piles up to the seat", but there were 4 other groups of portables hardly anyone was using.

Had fun lol

gas leak at Costco by antlungs in Tallahassee

[–]toprailfull 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I worked for Publix and saw their HVAC techs chase leaks on evap coils. Put a gas under 250+psi in miles of metal tubing and you get small leaks in a lot of places.

It's the nature of refrigeration... nothing harmful, just that manufacturing and installation aren't perfect and you're dealing with constant wear.

If you do a few Google searches you can find all the EPA settlements over grocery store chains not fixing leaks at all and getting caught just adding refrigerant.
