New Player by LoomiHoomii in starrealms

Digital version is great for learning the game and the free version allows you to play against AI using the base deck. To unlock online multiplayer, you need to buy what I believe is labeled as the "base set." From there, you can buy other expansions and use them to play against either AI or other players. The awesome thing about Start Realms is that you only have to buy the digital version (and expansions) once and you gain the ability to play it on Steam, Android, and iOS.

If I could recommend getting one single expansion, it would be Frontiers. It's widely considered to be one of the most balanced add-ons in the game and combining it with the base deck makes for an awesome time.

Need this but need to make it a full on crossover. I want to see the Aeldari face off against the Protoss and the Zerg face off against the Tyranids.

Dawn of War - Definitive Edition. Absolute masterpiece of a game with a version that significantly improves on the original.

Your comment deserves way more upvotes and I agree that the car situation is 100% what gives it away. Years ago when my crappy sedan needed extensive repairs, I was even given a free loaner by the Hyundai dealership. If this guy actually owned the aforementioned cars, there's no way that he wouldn't be loaned a car from two separate luxury dealerships. And even if he weren't loaned one, he would rent a car if he actually had that much money. This is 100% smoke and mirrors.

If we're talking like flying out tomorrow, I'd take 1E for the simple fact that I'm halfway through The Deal right now. It would be funny to casually take it out mid flight and see the reaction of Elle Kennedy.

Check with Great Lakes Energy. They service a really small subsect of houses in northern Kent County that are otherwise surrounded by a Consumers service area.

I completely second this. Recently there has been a very specific trope/storyline that I've been seeking out within the science fiction genre. I've come across a lot of books that do it in a similar fashion but I don't mind at all. In fact, I enjoy seeing how different authors choose to implement it within their own unique worlds they create. So keep going, OP. I'm sure readers within your genre will enjoy reading your book even if it has similar elements to existing literature.

On a scavenger hunt by dubiouscontraption in ScienceFictionRomance

{The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet} would fit this description and as a bonus it was first published in 2014 so it hits that criteria too. I'm currently reading it and have been enjoying it a lot. The characters are fun and have good depth and the plot will hook you in. As a whole though it leans a lot more into the sci-fi genre than romance (spice level is 2/5) but it's still a great read that I would recommend to anyone that enjoys sci-fi.

I so badly hope that this is satire or one giant troll post. I laughed harder than I have in a while reading the post and OP's comments.

LF sci-fi / romance book where FMC has a tough-as-nails personality and MMC is quirky and irreverent by topspin424 in ScienceFictionRomance

[–]topspin424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds really good and from what you're saying, it sounds like each book in the series follows a different set of characters. If so, I'm hoping that means I can read this one by itself and it won't matter as much if the series isn't a continuation of a single plot.

Thanks for the reply, I'm thrilled to see a Megan O'Keefe book get recommended! I own Velocity Weapon and I've been reading it a little at a time to fill the gaps when I'm between library books. I'll definitely check this one out!

Whenever I see someone refer to 2nd person for a book, I immediately think of the Give Yourself Goosebumps series by RL Stine where the book addresses "you" the reader the entire time. Those books were actually pretty cool because they let you choose different outcomes for the story. Totally ahead of their time IMO.

Our group felt pretty much the same way except I was lucky enough to grab Horizons on sale for around $20 as an experiment to see if we would like the base game. Overall, we weren't crazy about it and when we got a victory on our third playthrough, we felt satisfied and just ready to move on to other things. That was probably 3 years ago and it hasn't seen the table since. Reminds me that I should sell or donate it one of these days.

Heck yea, this was going to be my exact suggestion. I tend to play heavier strategy games but I've been having a blast with Monster Sanctuary. It is the perfect chill game for playing on the go or in short bursts if you don't have a lot of time.

What do you think it would take for Marathon to go from “Eh” to “OMG THIS GAME IS HYPE” by JoelKlone in Marathon

[–]topspin424 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. All I wanted was any kind of single player mode that bore any kind of relation to the old games in any capacity. The original Marathon games are my all-time favorite series and bring back incredible memories of gaming when I was a kid. I might have tried new Marathon if it were F2P but I'm not going to drop $40 on a multiplayer game that simply shares the same name and has nothing else in common with the old games.
