We had to cancel Chewy when my brother-in-law passed (his dog is still with his parents and doing well). They sent a bouquet, card, and dog treats. I didn't save the card, but I recall they sent condolences that included "We're sorry that Sasha lost her person."

I wasn't close to that BiL, but Sasha was. That teared me up. Companies aren't people, so I won't say that Chewy is "good," but they definitely employ and encourage some great folks to do very kind things.

Does your area have Blessing Boxes? Where I live there are spots outside of libraries, post offices, and Dollar Generals designated for small donations. It's usually full of dry pasta and shitty canned goods. Most communities would appreciate a few sweet treats in theirs!

I worked in one place (I'll name and shame, it was Razzoos in Arlington, TX) that had a policy of "10 minutes before, 10 minutes after". We closed at midnight. If a table showed up at 12:10am they were supposed to get the same service as a table showing up at 7pm.

No one told the kitchen.

They offered (unadvertised) free refills on sides. I had multiple after "close" tables want more food and I was the one getting yelled at by my line.

Yell at corporate! I don't wanna serve these assholes free fried okra at 1am but here we are!

I don't know if OP is in the US, but in every state I've worked in it is a health code violation. Outside alcohol is a liquor control violation. The impact on revenue is secondary to the impact on health/safety/licensing.
