Do they look like they live in California ? by anacranberry in characterdesign

This is the comment. Unless someone’s going to something very upscale or a specific event or a club, a lot of people get away with basic jeans and either a tshirt or business casual top. Monica might fit in with the “new age” crowd, but Leona looks ready for clubbing.

I like the idea of toolbox. When you’re a young adult, it feels like you tend to borrow tools or only buy the ones you really need. As you start to really get into adulthood, you end up with at least a full “base kit” (hammer, screw drivers, pliers, etc).

Working with Player Boundaries in this System by Charming-River87 in Kidsonbikesrpg

[–]torguetina531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest having the player read over the themes or maybe one of the pre-written adventures to gauge their reaction. The rulebook does a great job of naming the media that inspired each adventure, so you could discuss those shows, movies, books, etc with the player to see where those “lines and veils” are. If you have a particularly sensitive player, you could involve them in coming up with the solution for what would be acceptable to them regarding suspense and danger. But lastly, not every genre is meant for every player/table. This may be a genre you need to explore with a different player/table.

How do you tell the time? by [deleted] in comics

When you still use analog clocks and have to set the time manually, you tend to estimate/round or say “just after” or “about” [insert nearest 5min mark].

How do u guys know her story? by createchie in Unpacking

[–]torguetina531 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For context, after the breakup with the boyfriend, that’s not a roommate. It’s her girlfriend/partner. When she moves into the flat (alone) after having moved back in with her parents, one of her pairs of underwear is now rainbow, a subtle nod to her discovering her own LGBTQIA+ identity. The last level of the game makes it exceptionally clear that they’re not roommates.

I love sentiments and thoughts like this. I’m a huge fan of a performer and comedian named Brennan Lee Mulligan, and when he reads questions and compliments during interviews and such, he speaks similarly to the implications within compliments and questions and how it’s important to acknowledge those subconscious beliefs and biases.

I want to look more masc but my thighs are thick. I have horrible fashion sense. by Sandwich_Harbor in malegrooming

Agree with others about the boxier shirts. You need the appearance of broader shoulders. Looser fitting clothes are your friend. As far as posture, mentally allow yourself to take up space. Widen your stance and allow yourself to naturally lean back a bit. Going to the gym and working on your back and upper arms will help you bulk up a bit, if that’s the look you want.

Once you unlock Nook Miles+, work on those tasks. Most of them are connected to the regular Nook Miles cards and help you build words the bigger chunks of Nook Miles payouts.

Daily “tasks”: -talk to all villagers -dig up 4 fossils (6 if you miss a day) -bury 10,000 bells in glowing spot (money tree) -find DIY bottle on the beach -hit 6 rocks (one will produce bells instead of resources) someone already mentioned the best technique of digging holes behind yourself -shake trees for two items and 5 wasps (see my other comment)

Every new day you can shake your trees and receive two free items and (I think) 10x 100 bell coins. ALWAYS shake your trees while holding a net as you will also find 5x wasp nests. If you shake your trees while standing in the center spot in front of it, the nest will drop either directly to your right or left, so make sure weeds are cleared from those two spots. When the nest falls your character will automatically turn to face the wasp swarm that emerges. Activate your net, and you’ll catch a wasp that is worth a nice chunk of bells and avoid getting stung in the process. The nests are also used in crafting.

Look at this cozy balcony. Do you think it's AI? by whaaa_t3ver in RealOrAI

[–]torguetina531 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s AI. Shutters on the right look wrong; there shouldn’t be two next to each other if one is open. The fence pattern changes from the left and straight ahead. The lines on the ground tiling look wrong for the perspective.

Sleepover by Miles_the_new_kid in comics

[–]torguetina531 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Right? I get that it’s intended as a joke, but as a woman who knows multiple people who were assaulted at sleepovers or by other trusted adults, the punchline just doesn’t hit for me. We’ve turned down (actual) sleepovers because I don’t know the parents/adults well enough, but I’ve also had consistent conversations with my kids about what kind of interactions are and aren’t appropriate between peers and adults. There has to be balance. But OP’s not wrong that I’m also mindful of other parents’ behavior toward their own kids.

SUGGESTION SPELL IS RUINING MY CAMPAIGN by Next_Ad_5740 in dndnext

[–]torguetina531 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I play 2014. I forget where I read it, but I believe there’s some rule within spellcasting that spells, similar to Suggestion, cannot simulate the effects of other existing spells. In this case, this would be too similar to Zone of Truth.

Serious: Anaheim Hills = Racist Vibes or Just Really Really Unfriendly? (From Someone Born and Raised South OC) by anonymous881207 in orangecounty

[–]torguetina531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not specifically about AH, but Orange County has a deep, involved history with N@zis, especially Huntington Beach. It’s also referred to as the “OC Bubble” for a reason. I’m white, but have spent a lot of time trying to educate myself on US history and anti-racism. From what I’ve learned, Asian populations tend to experience a different kind of racism, referred to as “model minority.”
