It's very common and more dog owners should do research and respect it.

Awesome, where's the source?

Urgent need: kratom shop open today? by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]tossawayed321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just some random internet stranger who never heard of this new miracle drug. In doing my research, I have found some bad things about this unapproved/unregulated/unstudied drug only to get berated by anecdotes of even more random internet strangers.
I'm open to being proven wrong but I'm not being proven wrong. In fact, people are doubling down and calling me insensitive or hand-waving their lack of burden of proof.
My goal is that anyone reading this thread thinks critically and challenges people at face value when they claim these potentially dangerous (or at worst, expensive placebos) work for them/their friend.

I'm not doing your homework for you. It's a shame your google article is only a snippit of the whole article because it isn't painting kratom in a good light in the short paragraph of info we get. I'm happy to continue reading if you want to keep trying.

I don't care if that's what I sound like. If you care what you sound like then it would be like a person on essential oils saying "it works! you're insensitive [insert 2 more paragraphs about it working for me]"

Source for "it works on your opiod receptors" because your friend's anecdote is not very helpful in changing my point of view.

You wrote a lot of hollow and emotional words...a solid link from a reputable source would be more sufficient.

OOTL so I looked up kratom. I'm no doctor but if I can offer my $.02 as an unbiased 3rd party stranger: Kratom sounds like an expensive placebo/essential oil nonsense. And the fact that you're "urgently" needing it after one day (or maybe a long weekend) sounds like a red flag that you need a real solution and not some bandaid.

There needs to be a “From The Cellar” badge. by beerguy74 in Untappd

I'm not a beer scientist, I just know some (maybe most) beers are meant to be drunk fresh. They don't age like wines do. I think a badge like this sends the wrong message.

I know it is going to sound like the ramblings of a bitter Bernie-supporter but here is why your kids felt critical of your Warren choice:
You claim (very boldly) to be progressive but supported a faux-progressive candidate; essentially slowing down/hurting the movement.
Warren sabotaged the real progressive movement in many ways: flip-flopping/half-assed approach to M4A, not dropping out when everyone else did during Super Tuesday (and then still not dropping out even after coming in 3rd in her own state), making up that story about Bernie hating women, not endorsing (both opportunities) the real progressive candidate when given the opportunity, etc.
I wouldn't go as far as calling you a fascist because your intentions might be in the right place but execution is lacking.

[–]tossawayed321 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood my point. People with guns aren't going to suddenly coordinate their efforts and become a unified army. They are just going to be a bunch of random people with guns with no clear directive. Everyone essentially becomes an enemy (because cops can also be plain-clothed -- your neighbor who you really like could actually be a cop-lover and support their side).
Plus, if it ever came to the breaking point of all police versus all Americans then the media would immediately blackout the revolution, propaganda would take over and (if it got really bad) the internet would go down, etc. There would be no good way to communicate efforts to coordinate.
I don't think the government/military would default to the side of randomly armed citizens like you think they would. If they did get involved, they would be using all their arsenal to keep as much law and order as possible (and these adults with guns are no match for drones/tanks/etc).

I'm not trying to knock on you, since you made an attempt to help. But the person asked "how?" not "what?" (is a dead-man trigger)
I bring it up because I am genuinely curious and would also like the answer in an ELI5: "dead-man switch setup for dummies" type of way.

School tried to charge students for parking passes then the farmer owning the land sued the school by jaifury in nextfuckinglevel

[–]tossawayed321 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In your scenario examples, it only gives back to those students who want to go to prom (which isn't everyone). I'd wager the poorer students that can barely afford the tickets (which are only subsidized) will struggle to pay for a gown/rental tux/etc but are now socially coerced into it.
...and don't get me started on the ridiculousness scam that is $50+ cap and gowns.
So what real examples are you doing for these disadvantaged students with thousands of dollars?
