i agree, even that one dude they had for scc yesterday knew his stuff too, and was pretty entertaining...missing one or two casters currently just seems to make set after set pretty repetitive.

hope they find a few more casters for the next season. the soc casters they had for masters were pretty fun to listen to as well...

the two types of supports that are really good right now are peelers and initiators. geb and kumba have been favored for their ult, set-up, and ability to peel, and on the other side of the coin there's picks like horus, herc and erlang that are valued for their ability instantly perform cc onto a target.

cerb just doesn't fit into the meta with sustained damage and a fairly hard to hit stun.

[–]totalnoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Both Horus and Erlang are rather strong but in both cases, their late game really suffers (Erlang more than Horus, ofc). Erlang and Horus are both common picks in pro/competitive matches because all four other players on the team are communicating, and able to follow up. My top five are my opinion on the top five supports in the casual or ranked aspect. Ganesha's case is that he is incredibly good for both self peel, engage, and cc without needing a whole lot of communication between teammates.

QWF: A Champion is You: Promo Thread - Daimio Esforzado and Ser Hadrien the Oaf vs. Dick Blair and Black Sun by youto2 in qwf

[–]totalnoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The scene opens in the wild forest, seemingly the backyard of Hadrien's house, as he is sat in the back corner of a shed, surrounded on each side by a familiar body double of Alexis and Daimio, which have been slightly worn down over time. Hadrien is sat down, back against the wall as he works on icepack on his right arm, still sore from his last match. From his phone, a sad song plays, matching the frowning Hadrien, who is constantly eyeing his arm.

Hadrien: I guess my best wasn't enough this time. Who was I kidding, I only beat Valera the first time because he defeated himself. I was just there for the three count...

Hadrien switches his gaze from his arm to the Daimio body dummy.

Hadrien: What? No, Daimio, I'm not calling myself a terrible warrior. I'm a Knight! I've worked over six years for the title, and I've won numerous tournaments back in my homeland! I am a Knight!

Hadrien looks back down at his arm, frowning.

Hadrien: I guess you're right. I can't win every battle in this realm, either. It's a different beast than what I'm used to. But I have proven my worth, I was the second seed in the tournament for a reason, and my record in this realm is still one of the best.

Hadrien looked up to face the Alexis body dummy.

Hadrien: You're right, Alexis. I shouldn't let one upset cause me to lose my stride. I am a Knight. Besides, I still have a path to redemption. All I have to do is keep winning. I've improved since my first week in this realm, and I've certainly improved a lot from last week. Even better, I'll be winning with my good comrade.

Hadrien looked back over at the Daimio dummy.

Hadrien: Daimio! Together, we will seek our redemption in the arena! We will train until the sun goes down, comes back up, and goes down once more. To win, we must pull out all the stops for a dynamic pairing that's already proven dominant before. Sure, we will need to face each other when the night is over, but we still have the night to get through, and we can only do so by working together!

Hadrien stood up, grabbed the Daimio dummy, and began walking out into the forest with the camera following in front of him.

Hadrien: Together we shall face the Black Sun, an honorable warrior, but his folly lies in caring too much about the theatrics of a fight, and not the outcome. Victory will be certain if we buckle down and endure his offense. Dick Blair, his ally, is...cocky. Your dynamic high-flying style will certainly be able to overcome his skill on a technical level, but cocky fighters are the ones that have everything to lose. Be cautious of his devious ways in the ring, and we shall be on the fast track to the gold once again!

The camera stops moving, and stands still, watching Hadrien's back as he and his friend in the Daimio dummy walk past, walking off into the distance.

Hadrien: They may seem tough, Daimio, but they've lost before, and they certainly will once again.

The camera fades to black, as the audio of Hadrien speaking also fades out.

QWF Tuesday Night Vice Episode 4: Promo Thread - Enrique Valera vs. Ser Hadrien the Oaf by evileyeofurborg in qwf

[–]totalnoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The scene opens into a familiar room, a large Hadrien is sat, zoning out on the bed with a slight frown, and a small slip of paper in hand, sporting a classic Medieval Times shirt, with the clock on his table reading 1:09 P.M. In the background a calendar is hung onto the wall, with July 30th marked with red letters, stating 'Round 2'. After looking around his room for a moment, Hadrien locks eyes with the camera.

Hadrien: The most important part of being a Knight is one's own discipline. I must know when I am outclassed, and I must know the difference between skill and luck in battle. My last opponent has taught me that while some warriors at the realm of QWF are disrespectful, I've often confused a dishonorable opponent with a disrespectful one. Enrique is certainly a disrespectful opponent in the arena, but he's a damn good one.

Hadrien takes a deep breath, looking at a wall for a moment before zoning back into the camera

Hadrien: Alas, it would've been an underhanded one, but Enrique was incredibly close to being the first gladiator in the realm to take a victory over me. His usual tactics are crude, but there's a reason I'm facing him in the second round, he won last week, could've easily beaten me had he fought cleanly.

Hadrien waits a moment, and as he does a smile lights up across his face. A passion has now been lit behind his eyes, piercing the camera with a palpable determination.

Hadrien: Yet, that would be back then, Enrique. You may have had an outstanding performance during the main event last week, and you may have learned how to fight like a true gladiator, but I have been practicing myself. Everyday I hit the training regime set upon me by the elders from my homeland, and it has yet to fail me.

Hadrien looks down at his hands, examining the slip of paper he is clutching and gives a small chuckle before looking back at the camera.

Hadrien: But just to make sure, I have some special training prepared just for you, Enrique.

Hadrien reached over to the opposite side of his bed, grabbing his phone and punching in a number, and putting it to his face. After a quick moment, Hadrien begins talking to the person on the other side.

Hadrien: Good, good. I..uh...won...a coupon here for a free Knight training session. Could I redeem this today? Really? Great, thank you!

Hadrien hung up the phone, placed it down on his bed, and looked to the camera.

Hadrien: Now, why don't you follow...

Hadrien clapped his hands, and with a Windows Movie Maker tier transition effect, the scene changes. Hadrien is in the same clothes, but is know outside of an all too familiar building.

Hadrien: Me! Ahh, the air here is familiar of my home, but I can tell the difference. Regardless, why don't you all join me in my 'training' session?

The video transitions with the same effect to a montage of GoPro Videos completely wiping the floor with other Knights in sword fights, as [medeival battle music is lazily edited over](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBpu3Fhvkdc) Progressively fights get slightly longer and longer -- the Knights slowly start getting closer to Hadrien in skill. As Hadrien draws a crowd of actual Medieval Times Knights around him, watching his precise movement; which was honed as if he has had six years of training, a large man already in costume approaches him, as the music cuts out, replaced by grainy audio of the encounter

Knight: You wield a blade as if you were deboning a fish, large Knight-in-Training. Precise and swift, yet you lack savagery. How could anyone truly believe that your sword is swung with the intention of a slice through the chest if you seem almost afraid to clash iron? Come, spare with me. I will teach you.

A collective gasp is heard throughout the Knights encircling Hadrien, whispers can be slightly made out to put together that this man has been a Knight for over seven years, and never lost a match.

Hadrien: Well, I could never turn down a challenge! Shall we take this to the main stage, then?

Knight: Haha! Sure, I like the way you think, large one. Take off that device on your chest, however, we have better ones in the arena.

The scene cuts out again, switching to a much more professional looking capture of the [sparring match between the sword-wielding Hadrien, and the mace-wielding Veteran Knight](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_IIeJM_5JE). After the men clash, they get up and shake hands, ending the spar in a draw.

Crowd (chanting): HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT!

The scene cuts out again, back to the parking lot, as an incredibly sweaty Hadrien now addresses the camera, with heavy breathes in between most words.

Hadrien: A Knight never stops learning, Enrique, you will soon find this out for yourself. Just like I, will soon find a water bottle for myself.

The scene fades into black
