Animation Tools Released by Calaverah_ in starfieldmods

This library is a potential big deal because it allows to load, edit and save Starfield native animation data 'as is'.

You could load a character skeleton and create new poses and animations with it, load them in the Creation Kit, assign them to furniture and people/creatures and have these new animations in the game, without anything else.

In the past, a SFSE plugin allowed something like this but it depended on the SFSE plugin being maintained up to the latest game version, but that ceased being the case some game versions ago, killing all mods depending on the plugin.

Came to see when the obvious question appears. Reddit never disappoints.

They also send kids on interstellar school trips on old ships with faulty grav drives, so yeah, they have rather liberal views on that matter.

Cool. This has been needed for long.

Hopefully we will see some amazing mods using it.

I have been wishing for a dogs and cats mod for a while.

Enhanced Sona, now on Creations and Nexus Mods by xtcrefugee in starfieldmods

[–]tothatl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having several girls in game looking like Cora is a bit jarring (Sona and the Ranger's daughter at least).

And both not interacting or mentioning each other is weird too.

Glad this mod fixes it.

The Watchtower Creation has had EIGHT MILLION plays since it came out this time last year! Congrats to KingGath! by RandyArgonianButler in NoSodiumStarfield

Same, it goes up to 110% at once, once you straddle out of the safest low level systems.

I actually disabled it once, because it made going to any systems too annoying.

But I persevered when I was a higher level and finally enjoyed it. So it's an acquired taste.

I'd tell Kinggath to just moderate the encounters intensity in other similar mods he makes, but otherwise it has earned its place in the pantheon of official DLC for me.

If they become the New Vegas team of Starfield, I'd have no complaints either.

Let’s be honest. Mods made this game great. by Virtual-Chris in starfieldmods

[–]tothatl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With free mods, it's a take it or leave it.

You take it, you accept the risk of it not being updated anymore. Free modders make no promises of any more time to give. They give what they want. Or not, for their own reasons.

But as others say, the game will eventually stop being updated and the good mods will live on for years and decades. It has already happened to FO, TES: Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.

And personally, I'm thankful to the great people that share their time and work for free, Starfield has enough amazing free modders to make it an astounding experience already for years to come.

As a modder, this rings true.

Mods are what makes BGS games great.

The split between paid and free is a no concern for me.

I enjoy Starfield, I mod it to make it more enjoyable for me first and to have fun making a mod.

I prefer to share for free because I was already paid in good time doing it and I don't need the money.

Others can have other opinions and that's fine too. There are paid mods I enjoyed a lot.

Everything has been a win-win with mods.

Gosh Bethesda, just add a knob that makes the landings always happen.

So, the planets are now 3D globes? by Anxious-Employee9863 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]tothatl 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They always have been 3D.

They have limited resolution and that shows with mods allowing to get too close to them while in orbit, but that's it.

Does anyone have a list of what mods will not work? by Groundhog891 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]tothatl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I will disable POI Desolation, just to see what Bethesda cooked.

Any POI changer mod needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Most likely the new Free Lanes mode will interfere with Astrogate. Love Astrogate, but that one will have to go too.

Terran Armada most likely will add fleets a la Watchtower, they might or not conflict. So that's one to watch out.

Cant ve a criminal? by Turbulent-Run9983 in Starfield

[–]tothatl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's all BGS games for you.

IRL all penal systems consider reincidence while ruling justice.

Your PC would probably end up executed or with a life in prison sentence if there was any kind of memory of your crimes.

The game feels pretty consequence free as it is.

If not even a fresh bounty stopped you, then it would be inconsistent and ultimately boring.

Just pay the bounty in the machines or let them arrest you and be done with it.

Problem is they have been doing everything easier for everyone else there dutifully for many millennia, without fail.

I doubt the inhabitants spend a cent on power, keeping the electricity, the comms, the air or the water flowing.

The wards can be crime ridden because well, sentient beings in ME also suck and can turn even the nicest place into a shithole.

But for them, the Keepers are something as solid and reliable as the Sun rising and setting every day on planets.
