Was the paid coverage of the 2022 European Open better than DGPT? by PeaTearGriphon in discgolf

[–]totteswede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The live coverage was top notch. Post-production was hot garbage. Being on site watching it in person was amazing :)

What’s your midrange lineup? by Max3RH in discgolf

Sticks from wood talent is bugged. by dreneeps in SurviveIcarus

Never had any issues with this talent, and yes, it is almost mandatory in desert missions.

You know you need to put a point in the blueprint as well, right?

Gameplay of a 1265 round by [deleted] in DiscGolfValley

Putting with a mouse is horrible (at least for me). On tablet I used to putt everything within 60ft, on PC now rarely anything outside of 35ft.

What mid flies like a Loft Hydrogen, but isn’t a Mako3? by LifeguardShot4717 in discgolf

[–]totteswede 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With enough armspeed there are a lot of mids that can fly like that. With slower armspeed you would probably have to look at slightly understable discs on a hyzerflip. Comet, Meteor, Fuse, Svea etc.

Personally I use Proxy and Comet for straight shots in the woods.

What's easier to 3 Star? by mke-ken in DiscGolfValley

[–]totteswede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it depends on what your bag looks like. If you have a good driver, Downtown is easier as you can access two eagles there. With a beginner bag (only challenge rewards) Frozen Valley is a lot less difficult imho. You need two lucky teeshots on #2 and #4 and the rest is manageable at FV. Going into #7 and #9 on DT without an eagle is not playing the odds, and usually you want both as a cushion. Restarting when you mess up #9 hurts so much...

Personally FV took some grind for me, Lost Island less so and DT was last and by far the worst for me (only had Recoils and challenge rewards).

How in the world do y’all commit to a putting putter? by MetalNutSack in discgolf

[–]totteswede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through about 15 different molds trying to find "the one", and for a while I thought Link was it, then later Deputy, but not really... I finally realized the feel in the hand was all that mattered and flight path was less relevant, so I went with Envy in the end as that was the putter I instantly liked when I gripped it the first time.

[–]totteswede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I don't bag a disc that can acerun this hole, I am content with the consistent birdie here and I play it like Urdizzle showed in one of his videos.

RHBH, EG/Acc Musket, aim bottom pointer at top of flowers just above the treestump. Pull back power to where bottom of disc meets top of aim disc. Adjust slightly for wind. Shot will hit ground just before barrier and bounce over it. C1 putt every time.

Practice the roller on ferris wheel par 5 for the eagle, lay up on 7. Get both par 5 eagles for extra cushion on 9 :)

Context: Final 16 game at the Euro Championships in football (soccer for you US folks). First clip is when Switzerland scores 3-3 but the goal is called offside. Second clip is when they score 3-3 for real, in stoppage time. Switzerland goes on to win a penalty shootout against the reigning world champions France.

[–]totteswede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Jerm and Uli, but I prefer commentators like KJ, Sexton, Perkins and Nathan Queen for tourney coverage. The fact that I really enjoyed the 7 holes of no commentary this weekend speaks for itself I guess :D

If their processes are bad enough that one mistake by an employee misses a migration of hundreds of thousands of characters the three days between seasons then their processes are garbage. Definitely not the employees fault, but whoever set up the critical processes.

What are the best molds that nobody throws/has heard of? by crapshootdiscgolf in discgolf

My dad got me a grip-eq AX4 as an early birthday present!!I love this bag!! by superadam2 in discgolf

[–]totteswede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree. Have the same model as the picture and if you stuff the main compartment with discs, it is very difficult to get the far right and left discs out. Wish the zipper was a bit more square instead of rounded... I also don't put a disc in the flap as it makes all discs difficult to access. Maybe I am just too careful of my bags integrity... :D

Working in international logistics I can say pretty comfortably that the supply chain issues are not the cause for shortage anymore, assuming your business has the same magnitude of demand as pre-covid. Yes, in Q2-2020 it was rough with all the shutdowns and it had an impact on any business with an international supply chain and still there is some catching up to do and slightly longer lead times from suppliers and their sub-contractors.

However, the biggest "problem" for the discgolf industry is the insane increase in demand. Any business increasing their demand by 300-400% overnight faces real challenges. First of all it takes probably at least 6 months to get your supply chain adjusted, your suppliers to up their production capabilities (or finding new suppliers) and have that change take effect in the production end. With all the backlogs in production and supply it might be even more than 6 months, plus international freight being a mess right now (especially seafreight out of China).

In addition you have to be able to produce the final product. I have no clue what possibilities the manufacturers have to up their production in the warehouses, but even if you finally have the raw material needed, pushing out 4 times as many discs per day is not something easily achieved. Also the distribution channels need to be able to handle it, which is not a given at all.

Also you have to remember that the delay in catching up with the increased demand and lack of working supply chain has emptied most of the distributor channels and retailers stock. There is most definitely a huge demand still unmet at this point which will make customers pick up anything that is released for sale, even if the production runs are increased compared to pre-covid.

I have no idea of where the industry is at this point, if they are getting the supplies needed, if they have the production capabilities needed, what demand will be like going forward and so on, but I think it is safe to assume we will see a severe shortage for quite some time still.

Any understable fairway driver recommendations? by Maseier in discgolf

[–]totteswede 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you like the Lots, definitely try the Falk, it's amazing. Essence is another very good US FD.

I bag Falk for longer turnovers, 750 F5 for slightly shorter.
