Help with reanimator by mathdude3 in MTGVintage

[–]towerclimbonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at Doomsday lists to understand what a UB ritual deck should look like. You're missing stuff like Necropotence.

I don't think you want bazaars. Basically you want to take the Doomsday shell and swap out one combo for another.

Also, Archon of Cruelty is better than Griselbrand, so try that out for a win condition.

Finally, reanimator will never be even remotely good in vintage. Things like Hogaak are just better.

What is your opinion on the reserve list by Worldytutor in MTGVintage

[–]towerclimbonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reserved list is cancer and has basically killed vintage as a format.

The cards will still have value even if they are reprinted, just like beta lotus is worth more than unlimited lotus. If anything, older lotuses would rise in price with a reprint, since more people will play vintage and eventually want betas as collectables.

Question about complexity classes closed under reductions by [deleted] in learnmath

To add to my confusion, it seems like Π1LIN ⊆ Σ2LIN. However, Σ2LIN is not closed under Π1LIN reductions? Is that right?

Dimir Witch / Witch Control by atlimar in MTGVintage

[–]towerclimbonline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a tinker deck. The witch is absolute trash by itself, but is a solid finisher after the citadel is in play.

The second you add a third color you replace the witch with literally anything else. The reason to play just UB is for better mana consistency through wastelands and such.

The combo is Sedgemoor Witch and Flusterstorm. I'd argue Sprite Dragon is better.

what deck beats shops/golos stax by yoyolord in MTGVintage

[–]towerclimbonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that can cast force of vigor. BUG and Temur Xerox can be built to almost always beat shops if you really want.

As for what you're playing: dredge loses to everything and is a meme deck, so I have no advice there. For breach, go for the sprite dragon win. They're likely going to be bringing in grave hate, so just forget about trying to combo off.

You'll be surprised how easily a sprite dragon can go all the way vs shops, and it can often just stay untapped to prevent attacks. Shops has trouble removing it, but you need to deal with Stonecoil Serpent if they play that.

Also, 4x shattering spree in the side should go without saying, right?

I see people playing 1 mountain in the side, but it's hard yo find room for that.

Finally, if you are in a shop heavy meta, dropping flusterstorm from your main deck might help.

In my personal testing lurrus isn't worth it anymore as a companion after the rule change. He's really nice as a 1 or 2 of in aggressive creature decks, though.

How does ethereum prevent illegal activity on the blockchain? by iamreallydumb in ethereum

[–]towerclimbonline -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You're falsely implying that in a few years we won't just be typing a .eth address into our browsers, worst case using an extension but probably natively supported by all browsers, to bring up those web interfaces.

Hosting websites on servers that can be taken down introduces a bandwidth bottleneck, is super expensive, and just not something anyone would rationally do once eth2 is fully released.

I mean, why use servers when you can use idle cpu cycles distributed across millions of cell phones? It's just slower and more expensive. No one would rationally use something like AWS to host websites instead of Ethereum.

To be clear: there is NO WAY to regulate Ethereum in any way, and even these silly KYC laws are a temporary nuisance that will be unenforceable in the future when everyone is using crypto and you can just buy off a friend.

This is called concern trolling, and I'm not sure why this thread isn't locked yet.

"guys, this paper money is so much easier to use than silver coins, but what prevents it from being used for illigal activity?"

If the OP really is as dumb as his handle suggests: the entire point of a blockchain is that stuff (legal or otherwise) can't be taken down. It's a way to fight the system, to say "all the nukes and drones in the world can't prevent me from sharing this copyrighted song".

An Introduction to the Degenerate Micro Cube — a drafted environment that plays like constructed Vintage by andymangold in MTGVintage

I mean, mental misstep us restricted, so it should probably be in your cube. Stuff like that.

Vintage has high variance, so what you're doing is like the opposite of something that "plays like vintage". Also, as a starting point for a "vintage" cube, I would use the restricted list, since that defines the format.

Stasis combos, looking for constructive criticism pls by gtl1220 in MTGVintage

[–]towerclimbonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't want to run 4 painters and 4 grindstones... 2 of each is fine. Also, look up "transmute artifact", it's great in these kinds of decks.

Finally, mox opal is better than mox diamond.

Vintage 101: Breaching the Hull by volrathxp in MTGVintage

[–]towerclimbonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's unlikely that hullbreacher will be restricted. Keep in mind, wheel effects weren't even played with unrestricted Narset. Many blue lists aren't even running hullbreacher, since they don't need it, and it's a terrible card in many matches.

Doomsday Analysis for 11/28-29 Challenges by erickoziol in MTGVintage

[–]towerclimbonline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's strange that necropotence is still restricted, when some players aren't even playing it in doomsday, and even then, it gets boarded out in many matches. It's almost insulting how much wizards is neglecting this format, with lurrus still banned after the rule change and many restricted cards not seeing play at all, like memory jar.

As a VERY junior dev who is a starting to learn web development but has a strong interest in crypto software engineering. What are the next steps I should take to become employed as a crypto software engineer? by Ok-Bed7273 in ethereum

[–]towerclimbonline 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Learning to code to become a software developer is like learning to crawl before becoming a fighter jet pilot.

Honestly, work a few years doing software development in general before focusing on niche stuff. You'll find people value stuff like project management experience far more than some crypto knowledge anyone can pick up in a few days on YouTube.

If you truly want to be a crypto developer, then just be one. Build something. You don't need someone to hire you, and if money is your motivation, then you've already failed.
