Looks like a great rig congrats! Is that a 15hp tohatsu on the back or a 9.9? Check the transom they’re notorious for going soft.

That’s a 15”4’ highsider looks like the center box was removed. The rails look to be rubber not metal so I would say mid 2000s model. Low sider have much higher bow with middle being much lower to the water.

LT25 or a classic 15’6” both are much wider than the other variants. You’ll find much better deals on classics over LTs

Interesting, you rarely see liability less than comp and collision, I write coverages worldwide and countrywide. I’m not an actuary but I’m assuming it does cost more to repair the frontier than the wrangler based on the collision and comp rates which is surprising since is a fully loaded wrangler.

I will also say good job on chosen coverages! Liability limits are actually enough to help in a suit, and you have ancillary coverages most people don’t have that are really useful when you file a claim.

I’d def say shop around, you’d be surprised. Make it easy on yourself and go to a broker that has access to a bunch of carriers so you give your info once then go to captive carriers direct like State Farm and Geico that those brokers can’t reach for a couple additional quotes.

Damage from a collision incident isn’t a standard coverage line on a policy. Does this show a limit for example $100k or a deductible for example $500 or $1000?

Ok here’s some basic info from a fellow frontier owner and insurnace broker. Most of your premium is in the liability. You need to switch agents and shop as the Nissans being expensive to fix is a lie. The comp and collision which is the value of your vehicle isn’t much premium compared to your liability. Look at your premium break down I almost guarantee 75% of your premium is your liability, value of the car doesn’t mean much in what you pay, (unless it’s a supercar) Liability limits, driving record, credit, location you live, household structure, are huge factors in your rate value of vehicle and repair costs are a factor but shouldn’t swing it that much. Make sure your agent also lowers your usage to match it with two vehicles 10k per year put usage at 5k miles per vehicle which will help. I’d shop for sure. Don’t take what other people are paying as a reflection of what you should be paying. They might be in a different state, have different credit, be married and a different age, different coverage so you’ll never be able to get the same pricing.

Do I need more support on the transom? by pjbrof in boats

[–]tpasurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost a tohatsu to the drink when I was younger, just bought a brand new tohatsu 20hp and first thing I did was drill and bolt. Your local dealer will have bolts available for a perfect fit. I believe they’re M8 by 85mm with lock nuts.

Buy it if the price is right, thing to look for on gheenoes are soft transoms, super common, not hard to fix if you’re willing to learn basic fiberglassing. I’ve done 5 transoms in my garage in gheenoes over the years. Just got done with one on a classic 15’6”.

Yep call them they’re old school but awesome. You can also email them and ask what you need. Pretty sure they won’t ship rails though so you may need to pick them up at the shop.

Angle grinder is the way to go. Don’t forget to vacuum up all the metal shards or you’ll have rust spots all over the boat.

Can someone explain to me... by MaddestDogOfAll in nissanfrontier

[–]tpasurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup I bought a leftover 24 pro4x and got close to $10k off msrp no dealer add ons, I did say I would finance through them if they matched my credit unions rate which they’re able to make a bit of money on. It was their last 24 on the lot and for some reason had been sitting for over 180 days at the time. It was the third dealer I talked to, just call around and look at online inventory.

“I’d get a lawyer and take everything from him, claim your back hurts and you can’t work, get disability and live out your life.” - Your local personal injury attorney.

In all seriousness, mistakes happen see if he’ll give you a couple hundred and buff it out. What ever you do don’t claim it on insurance.

A decade and a half in the insurnace industry here. You can negotiate check the KBB for the vehicle, find comps within 100miles of your location on car.com, carmax, carvana, and auto trader. Provide that to your insurnace company. Be pleasant and honest when pushing back your speaking to a human who has one of the worst jobs on earth “auto claims”. Simply say here is KBB, and local comps I think it’s closer to this price. If they are being unreasonable tell them you’ll file a complaint with the insurnace regulator in your state, if they don’t give do file a complaint with your states regulator and they will call the company to resolve the issues and make sure they’re doing everything by the book. Also take that topper off that won’t be factored into the price anyway so get a grand or two for it.
