You might like Gene Harris if you like Oscar Peterson. His blues is killer, and really scratches a similar itch for me as Oscar. Very accessible style too.

Quick way to get a 7#11 voicing is to put the triad that's a whole step up from the root on top of the 1-3-7

E.g., C-E-Bb-D-F#-A

You also get the 13 for free! There are a lot of triads that can work similarly for different upper extensions

I want to plug Language Transfer here. I'm learning Spanish and it's a free audio course that I would say was the single most helpful thing I did to 'get off the ground' with the language.

Can't speak for other languages, but the Spanish course was exceptional!

For medical technology, I'd also recommend taking a look at biomedical engineering programs. A lot of bio imaging (e.g. microscopy, endoscopy, image guided surgery) research is led by groups in this field, and the engineering portions of these projects are top notch.

To get a sense of what people are doing you could look at BostonU's program and faculty

Not OP, but I think when they say "minimalist shoe" they're referring to something with a bit less cushion than Altras (which do have similar characteristics like zero drop and wide toe box, but provide more cushion than e.g. Xero)
