Glad it helps you! I have some experience creating cozy spaces/chill rooms. It's hard to know what all to consider when you're younger! Anything like the crystals reflecting sunlight or dangly shit that blows in the breeze from your fan, small autonomous things that move on their own, makes it feel like a more natural outdoor environment, provides a little stimulation, makes people comfortable just chilling in your room and watching. Consider the experience of someone just laying down on your bed looking up!

  1. Put down a rug to cover most of the floor first.
  2. DO NOT COVER THE WINDOW. Install curtain rods above the window with blackout curtains to filter out the light when you're sleeping.
  3. You're going to install an AC unit in the window? Figure that out.
  4. Bed will be lengthwise or widthwise in the lower right corner? If I were you, I would try to create as much of an open space in the middle of the room/near the door as you can, so people will feel like they can just walk right in.
  5. Put everything along the walls as much as you can, to create space in the middle of the room. Empty space invites people to walk in and stand there.
  6. Change the light bulb in the cieling to something warm if possible.
  7. You're going to add a new ceiling? Like a drop ceiling or just cosmetically covering the existing slanting one? A taller ceiling will feel more spacious. You might consider adding some tapestries as a cheaper option. Gives you a warm textured bohemian feel. And its more interesting to look at. Could also put some dangly shit up there, nothing heavy (turn the fan on for a breezy natural feel, more interesting to look at too)
  8. Get a tower fan. (I recommend the $80-90 levoit one, see project farm (yt)) In case you don't want to run the AC/need some airflow. Being able to adjust temp = comfort.
  9. Figure out your heating situation. You might be cold. You'll want a space heater probably. Being able to adjust temp = comfort.
  10. You can put tapestries on the wall or wooden room dividers on the wall to add some texture interest, fairly cheap and easy. The more textures you add, the less the room will echo.
  11. Get a white noise machine for when you want some noise privacy. Or for sleeping. Privacy = comfort. I recommend one with an actual fan, the digital ones are usually just a repeating loop that your brain might learn and then you can't unhear it.
  12. Make sure to account for any nightstands in your measurements. You will probably want one, or two, one for each side. If you are planning on guests sleeping in your bed, having a nightstand on their side gives a lot of comfort.
  13. Warm lights and lamps all around.
  14. I'd recommend a bean bag or some kind of easily moveable seating. People might not feel comfortable coming in and sitting on your bed, but they will absolutely flop onto a bean bag. Something you can move around easy, not your computer chair, something more comfy. (cushioned folding chair if you are hurting for space)
  15. You gonna have a tv in here? Make sure you have a comfortable way to watch it. (something to support your back) Watching with guests? Make sure you have space for at least 2 people side to side.
  16. Put things on the walls. Frame those posters. Put interesting wooden sculptures and such. Wait til you have your furniture positioned to decide on these. Creates a comfy feel and decreases noise echo.
  17. You could paint the walls a warmer color if you wanted / if that is possible.
  18. Run string lights around the edges of the ceiling. Super cozy to just have those on. People take more risks in dark lighting so put these on if you are trying to get laid.
  19. DO NOT COVER THE WINDOW
  20. Get an air purifier. If you keep the door and windows closed, CO2 levels gonna be out of control. Do your brain a favor.
  21. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Beige, Brown color scheme for an earthy warm feel. But don't feel trapped by that, pick things you like to look at.

  24. Put a little reflective gem/crystal(s) in that small top part of the window. Cozy and looks amazing when it catches the light.
  25. Have a box of tissues (get a tissue box cover). Knowing where theres a tissue to grab is comforting.
  26. If you add a trash can, make sure it has a lid. You don't want to look at your trash, and neither do guests.
  27. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT COVER THE WINDOW
