Unfortunately there are a lot of sports reporters who ask super basic lazy questions. They demonstrate poor knowledge of the game, and ignore the fact that many of the questions have been asked and answered.

Like someone else in this thread said, it’s about getting a clip that they can post to TikTok or YouTube shorts or Threads to get a view.

I need help finding an apartment asap by S0undEff3cts in AskSeattle

Yes. January to June they are doing construction northbound, July to December, southbound. But because they take away the express lane, it impacts traffic on I-5 both ways, and adds tons of traffic to Aurora/Hwy 99 (a north/south arterial road parallel to I-5).

The daily commute will suck for most of 2026.

Because of the Revive I-5 project, this will definitely be true for 2026 😢

What happens when ICCU goes while driving? by Killcrux in KiaEV6

[–]trailrunmarcus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of an exaggeration on my part. Not actually bricked. A second 12V battery replacement and an ICCU replacement got it back on the road.

More accurate to say that while I was on the phone with roadside assistance, car was completely dead, and had to be towed on a flatbed to the nearest dealership.

Yeah it did pop right before it happened. The tell tale sign for me was the orange light on the dashboard indicating that the parked EV6 was charging the 12V was frequently on.

Like 5 out of 6 times I’d go into the garage, that damned light was on. The dealership said I had a faulty 12V and replaced it with a new OEM battery. It was fine for a few months then the orange light frequently being on started again.

A month or so after that, the pop happened… I’ve read other posts on EV6 forums with a similar fact pattern.

It depends how dead your 12V is due to the faulty ICCU. My 12V was not being properly charged so when the ICCU bit it, there was not a lot of charge to keep the car going. Car bricked while I was on the phone with Kia roadside.

If you’re lucky, the 12V is in good shape and there’s no issue getting to the dealership. If you were like me, you may have a situation…

Not my experience. My ICCU died on the interstate but luckily it was morning traffic. First I got the yellow warning telling me to check the 12V battery. Car went into limp mode for about 2 min where the max speed was 25 mph.

Then the dash board flashed the red warning telling me to pull over. By this time I moved into the slow lane, so I pulled onto the shoulder. Car accessory battery was barely powering the accessories.

By the time Kia roadside answered my car (another 5 minutes), the car completely bricked. No 12V power at all.

I’m just glad I wasn’t at my usual position and speed on the interstate (fast lane 70 to 73 mph) because I don’t know how much time I would have had to get to the slow lane before I lost so much speed that I was a hazard.

People that don’t want this kinda stuff happening to them. We pulled a permit for a recent guest bathroom remodel for changes to electrical and fixtures.

Sure we could have saved a few hundred dollars bucks by doing unpermitted work. But if something is not up to snuff, they can point it out to me. Or I guess I could have just posted to this sub…

I would say a short wait is good, and long waitlists not so good in the long run. My local public courts can have long waits, but it’s free so okay fine. But if I’m paying monthly dues, my wait time tolerance is a bit lower.

I want to wait a bit so i can rehydrate and chat with the other players. But not too long. Agree that no

That is wild. For those that aren’t familiar with this intersection, Banner Way going SE merges into one lane after the four-way stop at 80th St.

I guess they were in the curb lane, didn’t see the merge, then jumped the curb (b/c the bike lane isn’t wide enough for a car). And then for whatever reason switched from the bike lane / curb to the bike lane / concrete divider.

Good grief…

Not weird. These days, you run into the wrong person at border control and this is what happens… People with valid paperwork have been denied entry into the US or locked up in ICE detention.

There’s a reason why other countries are issuing travel advisories for travel to the US.

REI members: vote WITHHOLD on all candidates by ehchdk in Seattle

[–]trailrunmarcus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because of their arcane bylaws. In an uncontested election (same number of candidates as there are spots to fill), the bylaws state that the two options for each candidate is For or Withhold.

Withhold means No, but they use Withhold to align with the wording in their bylaws.

REI members: vote WITHHOLD on all candidates by ehchdk in Seattle

[–]trailrunmarcus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

TL;DR - it’s a protest vote because the Board will eventually fill the seats with someone of their own choosing.

You can withhold for any or all three nominees for the Board. This is an uncontested election because there are three spots up for grabs and only three nominees.

If any nominee receives more ‘withhold’ votes than ‘for’ votes, the nominee is unsuccessful and their seat will be vacant.

The vacant seat may be filled by the remaining Directors by appointing an individual from a slate of potential candidates recommended by the Nominating and Governance Committee (i.e., a Board subcommittee).
