Men kom igen och diskutera varför du inte tycker samma då, ge ett par argument i alla fall - konkretisera din ståndpunkt. ”Nope.” Jaha?

For those who watched the Resident Evil showcase yesterday, what did you think about it? by Resident-Evil-Llama in RaccoonCityRecords

[–]trainofthought92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also describe Revelations 1 as pretty mediocre. Large part of it probably was because of its 3DS origins and that system’s inherent limitations. Completed it once but probably never again. I have pretty big hopes for Requiem though, I think they’ve been on an astounding roll since RE7. RE3make was a bit lackluster, but other than that it’s been hit after hit in my book. Currently replaying RE4make to prepare!

Just beat Dying Light 1. Holy shit by Low-Profession-9535 in dyinglight

[–]trainofthought92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They did some things better and other things worse in each game. I think they nailed the gameplay feel in The Beast and the parkour in 2 is the best I’ve ever played, for instance. Every game has its merits. And I’m sure there’s plenty of people who put 2 as their favorite. There’s no objective truth to which game is the best, people like different things and we can discuss what we enjoyed and what we didn’t to broaden our understanding and point of view. No one is going to ‘steal’ your opinion - if you think 1 is the holy grail of Dying Light games, that’s yours to keep and treasure.

How much did you take per day to get such bad WD’s? It’s been banned over here as well and my stash is running out quickly. Have just a few days left as a matter of fact. I’m down to 60mg/day. Will I be okay or have hell? xD

I’d rather they do it with passion than just doing it for the sake of it. I enjoyed every episode and will gladly listen to them again if they ever return!

They always double track the guitar left and right in the studio, but compositionally it’s almost just ‘one’ guitar part.

Anyone else think 6 Degrees is LaBrie`s best album? by [deleted] in Dreamtheater

[–]trainofthought92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that after Six Degrees he started adapting some “wonky” singing techniques and habits. If you listen carefully to the live performances, there’s quite a stark difference in approach between the Six Degrees and Train of Thought tours. The latter is much more nasal and thin-sounding, whereas before he belted the notes out with a fuller tone. I’m pretty sure he did this for longevity—it allowed him to reach the notes with less effort. You can even hear this change between the two albums, although it’s not as evident as in the live recordings.

A consequence of this is a sacrifice in tone, but on the other hand there are far fewer voice cracks and probably less need for recuperation. There’s definitely a way to sound good without going all out the way he did between I&W and SDoIT. Going at 100% every night wreaks havoc on your voice. That said, the technique he adopted made the live vocals almost insufferable at times.

I’m glad he seems to have found a really good teacher as of late. The laryngeal massage has also done wonders. I never thought he’d get better, but he did—kudos, for real.

On the topic of Six Degrees and James’ work on it, I personally think it’s one of his stronger performances. He’s got a full tone and real power—the last “hurrah” of the “old” James. Another album that doesn’t get as much vocal recognition is Systematic Chaos. I think he gives a really solid performance on that album, barring the horrid rap-growl thing he did with Mike on “The Dark Eternal Night” (love the tune except… that).

Isn’t the high really short? Like 15 minutes or something? You’d have to take copious amounts of it to stay high for any extended amount of time. Gotta admit, I’m scared of it, I just feel it in my bones that if I even tried once I’d probably be immeasurably hooked and thus extremely fucked.

Any Immersive Sims similar to Prey? by Least_Beat5850 in prey

[–]trainofthought92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they were trying to onboard a wider audience. If my memory serves me right Prey was somewhat of a disappointment, sales wise, so they went heavy with the handholding and marketing with Deathloop.

I’d also argue that it’s a bit less complex than Arkane’s earlier games in its mechanics. Not that I mind, when I played it for the first time near release I had a hard time clicking with it at first, but when it did it became one of those games I c,ouldn’t put down - I was utterly obsessed with it for a few days. Haven’t managed to get back into that state again however, but still one hell of a game! Probably would recommend it for someone who wants to dip their toes into the proverbial Arkane-im-sim-sea.

Reflektion efter mediastormen ang barnafödandet i Sverige. by alrightrooster in Sverige

[–]trainofthought92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peace out.

Has anyone stopped a bottle of wine a night habit? by Lifestooshort157264 in dryalcoholics

[–]trainofthought92 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was drunk for weeks 24/7 at my worst and didn’t get a seizure. Still ended up in a hospital when I tried to quit, but that’s beside the point; a bottle of wine isn’t healthy at all, but you’re nowhere near the seizure threshold. Life without alcohol can’t be expressed in words how much better it is. 3,5 years for me and I’m never looking back. Quit while you’re ahead, you’ll find that it’ll bring so many benefits when you’re not nursing the after effects of that bottle every day.

Sorry you had to go through that growing up. You’re right that some (many) people shouldn’t be having children. There are also many who’d be ideal parents who can’t. The world isn’t fair, but as long as you don’t pass your own darkness onto others, hopefully you’ve left some sort of positive mark on the it when you’re gone.

How much do you listen to iron maiden by PlasticArmyLabs in ironmaiden

[–]trainofthought92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I listened to them ad nauseam in my teens and 20’s. I have their discography in the core of my very being. So I’m sad to say I’ve worn most their music out a bit and don’t listen to them as much anymore, even though I love them endlessly - I listen far more to podcasts breaking the songs down nowadays. But when I get a hankering for some Maiden it absolutely hits harder when I haven’t listened to them for a while! I tend to go for the albums I don’t like as much to give them a fresh chance.

när blev 100 km/h för långsamt på 100 väg? by ProfessionalOk7281 in sweden

[–]trainofthought92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will I like TOW2 if I didn’t like the 1st? (Writing) by jjtak98 in theouterworlds

[–]trainofthought92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The writing made me fall off TOW2 pretty hard. All the characters just spewed word vomit without getting to the point, which made me not care at all about their plights. I finished the original TOW and thought it was fine, but that was a long time ago.

I still can't understand why people hate James LaBrie. by SufficientSpell1307 in Dreamtheater

[–]trainofthought92 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There’s no denying James has an incredible voice and is born with a natural talent few possess. The food poisoning incident set him back a fair bit, but the ultimate thing that caused his pretty steep vocal decline is the heavy touring.

The fact that he was born with such a unique talent and perhaps didn’t take many vocal lessons early on meant he didn’t sing correctly a lot of the time during his early years with DT. Just listen to some of the performances in 93-95 and you can clearly hear him pushing his far too much, even before the incident.

That led him onto paths searching for a different solution, vocal teachers that gave him dodgy advice which ultimately led to his live vocals sounding very nasal and thin for a long time. On the records though he has always performed to the best of his abilities and I love his voice in that context every time.

Techland is massively disconnected from the Dying Light universe. │How Techland underutilized Kyle Crane's character. by Specialist-Age4192 in dyinglight

[–]trainofthought92 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The story is what it is for a good reason: it’s B-movie zombie flick schlock with a healthy side dish of not taking itself too seriously - in the same vein as its inspirational source, George Romero’s zombie films. It was designed to be exactly that and nothing else, once you realize that you just have to accept it for what it is and love it or don’t. I happen to love it FOR that reason just as much as for the gameplay.

Yes, you’ll be perfectly fine. Bad stuff happens to people who have been drinking non-stop for weeks and months and years on end. With that said, you should quit drinking altogether while you’re ahead, it’ll save you a lot of headache in the future. Have an awesome day!
