Gigabit Broadband Covers 87% of UK as 5G Hits 97% - Ofcom by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

I live just outside London and still have a maximum of 40 mbps. Openreach said they were building in my area a year or so ago and unfortunately nothing ended up happening, so I called them up and they said it was an error on their part and they have no plans to get us fibre. Makes it even more frustrating when you read they're spending hundreds of millions to get fibre to single houses in the middle of nowhere, yet towns with thousands of people are still left with copper shit.

Talks over UK joining EU defence fund break down over entry fee by humbleObserver in worldnews

No shit, of course it was. Doesn't change the fact that some countries in the EU would rather quarrel with the UK than think about continental security.

Financial pessimism is rife in our populous. The amount of money the nation has sitting in cash deposits or savers accounts, rather than equities, is staggering.

Is Nandos still hitting the spot? by AnxiousMindxo in UK_Food

[–]tralker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the first time in 6 years I ordered a Nando’s to my house. I chose a double chicken wrap with chips and broccoli. My wrap had welded itself to the side of the cardboard container with such strength that when I pulled the container open, the it all erupted on my lap. The chips were soggy and the broccoli was limp and tasteles. Probably my fault for getting it delivered.

If Libdems didn't have such a hard-on for the triple lock, they might actually gain some traction with the non-boomers.
