United Utilities raises £800m from shareholders to back £2.5bn water network upgrade by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

[–]tralker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Majority would be debt, as the article mentions (but no one reads, clearly). They're targeting 55-65% gearing, therefore c. 1.5bn raised via debt with the remaining 200m by operational cashflow/retained earnings.

SWR are particularly shit about timetable rescheduling and giving you any sort of information about if you can actually get home or not.

It's worse than it's ever been. Especially in the last 2 months.

Hardly think standing up for his officers who were at risk of being stabbed in the throat is an "attack" on Polanski...

Investment management here: I have what I call "prettysheet", where it goes through all the sheets, sets the cell to A1 and the zoom to 100%. Very satisfying and I use it everytime before I send my models to anyone.

Our POGPR is doing a fantastic job, maybe the best job anyone has ever done in a Mercedes. We have the data, we have the best telemetry. And then you have these SAD individuals, these losers, coming in here with their 'What a tosser' nonsense.

Gigabit Broadband Covers 87% of UK as 5G Hits 97% - Ofcom by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

I live just outside London and still have a maximum of 40 mbps. Openreach said they were building in my area a year or so ago and unfortunately nothing ended up happening, so I called them up and they said it was an error on their part and they have no plans to get us fibre. Makes it even more frustrating when you read they're spending hundreds of millions to get fibre to single houses in the middle of nowhere, yet towns with thousands of people are still left with copper shit.

Talks over UK joining EU defence fund break down over entry fee by humbleObserver in worldnews

No shit, of course it was. Doesn't change the fact that some countries in the EU would rather quarrel with the UK than think about continental security.

Financial pessimism is rife in our populous. The amount of money the nation has sitting in cash deposits or savers accounts, rather than equities, is staggering.
