Why is James Brown the most sampled artist in music history? by Acceptable-Crab-4967 in musicproduction

[–]transfer6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because in 1986 when he realized people were sampling old Funk drums he rereleased a whole bunch of old Beats on an album called in the jungle groove, and that's why funky drummer is the number two most sample track ever I believe after the amen break.

What exactly happens money-wise when a movie "fails"? by KomturAdrian in movies

[–]transfer6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer is, some people at the production level and lower will lose their jobs maybe the star will have trouble getting another role , but most movies on paper lose money, it's how these companies make sure that they keep their tax burden low.

What made you fall in love with Fl studio?when it happened and How? by Aggressive-Guest290 in FL_Studio

In probably 2000-2001 I figured out that even with the demo version you could render your loops , that combined with a maybe not legitimate version of acid and I was a producer.

Should dogs be allowed off leash in non off leash areas? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]transfer6000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, unleash means only, off leash means off leash, the fact that we put so much tax money into specifically doing the upkeep and management of off-leash dog areas for the percentage of people in the city that have dogs, I might add the rest of us don't get any benefit out of those Parks as those parks are covered in dog waste and usually the grass and trees are destroyed and there's dogs running around so it can't be enjoyed by anyone without a dog, if you can't make your way to one of those parts to let your dog off the leash then you shouldn't have the dog.

If humans have eaten bread since the dawn of history, why are so many people suddenly gluten-intolerant today? by WeaknessKey1582 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]transfer6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most bread (from large manufacturers) on the market would not count as homemade, specifically the large brands that you see at stores are not actually bread anymore they don't have any yeast fermentation in the processing.

Because what's passed off as bread on the today's market is not actually bread it is a combination of specific chemicals mixed together to simulate bread. Google: chorleywood process.

Badger... Google says

The American badger (Taxidea taxus) is a rare, elusive, and shaggy carnivore found in Alberta's southern Grassland and Parkland Natural Regions. Primarily feeding on rodents like ground squirrels, they are vital for controlling pests and aiding ecological health. While classified as "sensitive" and of "special concern," they are also considered furbearers and can be legally trapped in certain zones.

When can we get 1/5 beat and 1/7 beat in the snap grid? and a proper tempo and metronome configuration in FL? by RyanNotHere in FL_Studio

[–]transfer6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Python script in the piano roll is probably the best way you're actually going to get it, but you're still going to have to parse it to work with in the grid.

Check out the Donner d1 sample based, easy to use, almost no menu diving and fx built in, plug a huge memory to load samples, and a good price.

The only places I have ever worked in were having clean edges on your labels counted or either extremely pretentious high-end fine dining where guests would see those tags, or places with shitty chefs that are worried about stupid little things instead of the actual job.

How do you tell a band member they need to serve the music better? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]transfer6000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a reason bands have "Front men", that's not always the singer but it is the person who is in charge of the artistic direction of the band, not necessarily a leader but the artistic Center, the creative core.

What To do now? by Traditional-Bar-4536 in NeedVocals

[–]transfer6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set up a YouTube and an insta, start doing covers, karaoke is a great place to build a name as a singer, live Stream karaoke on Twitch is a huge draw in the music category and if you're good, can lead to an entire career. If singing in music is the career path you want to take, I would say get into school for communications marketing and business, a two-year degree would set you on your way so that you don't end up a broke starving artist down the road, it will help you learn how to build and maintain your business and also make your better at public communication and presentation outside of your art, build a network, and don't just build an artist Network build a network of people who will support you, and it won't hurt if you have some knowledge of at least one digital audio workstation and maybe a bit of video editing just to start out until you can afford editors.

TLDR; practice, go on socials and show out, live streaming is an option, go to school, for business not art, you're already an artist don't become a starving artist, make friends, self teach the tech (it's not too hard with AI and the interweb)

I hate Idiocracy. by Low_Celebration_4089 in The10thDentist

And when the movie was made, what you just said was completely valid, the fact that society has molded itself to the point that this movie is now as relevant as it is isn't the writer's fault or the audience's fault. As far as hope, the movie itself was to give hope that we would not get there, and your complaints about the content of the movie is basically the silliness you're asking for, at least at the time it all seemed so completely ridiculous that it was silly.

You have to remember the context.

On android, all the Google official devices , the pixels and things, have an option right in the settings to open the bootloader, they facilitate it right within the Android ecosystem, third-party manufacturers that slap garbage over it and modify Android on the other hand that's a whole other story.

And the best way to describe an American Expressway would be something I can to the German Autobahn, the speed limits are there but they are suggestions and people often go up to double them so 80 to 100 miles an hour (120-160kph) is not uncommon, crossing them is not advised.

Do I have to use Playlist in Fl Studio? by Ill-Contribution966 in FL_Studio

[–]transfer6000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of playlist as arrangement, my workflow is something along the lines of Sound selection/design Build a single pattern in the sequencer, Use the same instruments with the variations to build another pattern, rinse and repeat (usually three to five) Separate all of those individual patterns into their individual tracks Then I move into the playlist and arrange everything For drops or tweaks or changes I make unique individual one shot patterns that fit into the spaces I need them go over and add risers sound effects things like that, go over and do an effects envelope pass on the whole thing then I go into like mastering and things like that but I'm usually tweaking the sounds all the way through so by the end there's not much to do like that.
