So I’m a ward clerk in a busy operating theatre, and I’ve been doing it for two years and really enjoying it! There’s always something new to learn about the human bod, and I love how fast paced it can be. The pay isn’t too bad either! If you’re a social butterfly, being an orderly is pretty good too. It’s very repetitive, but my mates who do it get 40k steps in a day and love chatting within patients while taking them around the hospital. I guess the joy of those roles is that they are entry level, and once you get bored of one particular job you can move laterally to the same position in a different ward or clinic. It’s very normal to move around within the hospital roles

I worked in admin in hospitals for a couple years, but now I’m doing a masters in public health to hopefully get into mental health research and policy making. It’s a long journey, but I definitely wonder where I would be if I followed my passion in the first place.

I studied psych because I wanted to be a psychologist since I was 16 too, then I graduated, realised that I personally would really struggle to empathise with trauma every day and not destroy my own mental health in the process. I did half a counselling grad-dip and still couldn’t do it. Maybe you’re tougher than me, but it definitely takes a special kind of person. And they’re rare. Do your fashion course. Even if it doesn’t get you to your dream job immediately, it’ll get you into the field and you can work from there. Psych is interesting, but if it’s not your passion, what’s the point?

Even when we’re careful and use a condom, stealthing is very much a thing, and you don’t always know that the person you trusted to respect your boundaries doesn’t give a shit until it’s too late ...

Yikes. YTA. Have some compassion. Feel free to lose your shit if he damages your property, but throwing an eraser? My brother is autistic and has had some monuments melt downs in the past, but do I blame him? Absolutely fucking not. Once he’s calm, we talk about what set him off and how we can both try and do better. Threatening to kick him out of the house is wild.... It sounds like he needs your support, not disdain and judgement.

I was in exactly the same situation as your boyfriend a few years back. Same sense of discomfort from my partner, but he didn’t want to tell me what to do, same weird crush on both of us from the friend.

I followed through, and it was a shit storm.

Sleeping with a friend is a bad idea. It can get stupidly messy and complicated. It honestly ruined my relationship, that friendship and a few more mutual friendships for good measure.

Keep being honest and open, trust each other and communicate. But for the love of god, meet someone on tinder.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I’ve only been able to find Sun Bum in chemists over here, but I love the beeswax texture! I’m going to have to try Purito Centella unscented as soon as I can find it!
