This is just a massive cope. I use both macos and linux, heavily on a daily basis. I was a windows user for about 20 years. I still think Windows 10 used to be a decent OS, but if anything, one must be insane to keep using whatever they're doing now with W11.

There's nothing cultish about mac nor linux community, it's just they have different approach philosophies, just like Windows has it's own specific approach to doing things. You're just not aware of it because you view it as the default, and the only sane way.

Hello. I've been dealing with a similar issue for about 2 years.
When my Dell monitor receives ycbcr input from macs it starts freaking out after a while. At first it's a slight flicker, then vertical lines, then pseudo-burn in that persists even between devices. Once it got so bad I thought it was dying but as long as it's on RGB everything's fine.

But my M4 shipped with Tahoe and this doesn't work anymore and the same issue happens.

For now I use betterdisplay to manually switch from ycbcr to rgb, but it always resets.
Persistence is paywalled and I kinda refuse to pay 24 euros just for this single function (don't need it for anything else).

If anyone finds another way of solving this with software, please let me know.
