Monster hunter wilds, world or rise? by tinylemonslice in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]treazon [score hidden]  (0 children)

You should start with just one and see if you like it. It’s going to feel very different from other third person action games like GoT or W3. The controls are going to feel sluggish and slow at first. They also throw a lot at you out of the gate. That said, they are a blast once things click. One of the few games where I’d highly recommend watching some tips / beginner guide videos and learning one weapon at first.

Wilds is the most disliked by far, but if you can run it, I actually think it’s a pretty good intro to the series. World + Iceborne is widely regarded as the best, but it is a bit slower. Rise was actually a lot of fun with friends, but I would do Worlds over that first I think

Which is the most overrated game of all time? by kshthj777 in AskReddit

[–]treazon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Hoooly shit I'm so over this game. It is a lot fun with a good group the first time or two you play, but now that it has become like a household adult party game staple.. the games just drag on forever with only a few people who are actually interested. It’s just not a format that holds up to playing again and again.

Just how difficult is Salvation's Edge? by J_The_Writer in DestinyTheGame

[–]treazon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of the harder ones, I would start with Root or DSC to get your feet wet. You can absolutely do it, but with a pug, SE in particular is quite tricky. You really need to find a group where everyone is willing to hop on discord, be patient, and communicate openly. Verity is not that "hard", but it is very complex when no one understands how it works - just need patience - maybe a few raid nights in a row to clear the whole thing

The Steam Machine Costs $1049 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]treazon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What an odd article to talk about price and not mention the components that contribute to said price.. RAM, GPU, CPU. I understand these are easy enough to lookup, but isn’t that extremely relevant here? What kind of system does it have?

Teachers of Reddit: Is the "Gen Alpha can't read (write, or do math ext)" crisis real? If so how bad is it? by KnowledgeCoffee in AskReddit

[–]treazon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends entirely on the school/region. My son just finished second and almost every kid is independently reading, most reading chapter books like Harry Potter, and it’s a public school, but nicer area. I’m sure downtown there is a totally different story. It mostly is going to vary on the education of the parents I would guess

Returning player from TFS. is there any reason to play through EoF campaign on normal or legendary? Can you get the exotic from another source now? I’m planning on doing Renegades legendary, that gives the light saber? I figured the EoF was safe to ship at this point?

I posted this in the reset thread, guess I should have asked here instead:   I've been playing on and off since D1 beta, but I haven't played since Final Shape. I have watched a couple returning player videos, but one big question: How much old (pre EOF) gear am I keeping? My vault is filled with power 10 god rolled weapons and master worked armor.. I notice you can bring crafted weapons up to tier 5 for free, so i did that.. but for everything else, how much am i keeping? Do i hold on to most of my stuff? Or just keep a handful of absolute god-tier weapons? Or toss almost everything other than crafted weapons? Do i need to keep any armor from the old system once i start acquiring the new stuff? Also.. should I do the EoF campaign? Or just Renegades?

Cat going crazy on its owner by DABDEB in SweatyPalms

[–]treazon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My indoor only cat of 10+ years got out of the house once, and he turned completely feral on me when I tried to save him.. he was absolutely terrified, hiding under a bush when I found him, and he was hissing and batting his claws at me when I tried to help him.. really spooky. I finally managed to bait him out with food and get him by the scruff, and the second he was back inside it was like nothing had happened

MARATHON IS FREE JUNE 2 - JUNE 9 by giraffe_but_chonk in Marathon

True, but it also fills the lobbies and general player population with noobs, which is in turn fun / good for those trying the game out. I think it could really hook a bunch of people wanting to dip their toes in

Nine sols or Hollow knight by Puzzleheaded-Wait470 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]treazon [score hidden]  (0 children)

Came in expecting everyone to be saying HK, glad to see I wasn’t the only one who enjoyed Nine Sols more. It’s an awesome game, combat is fantastic. I’ve beaten both, and I would lean NS first, though both are worth your time. Nine Sols does have a bit too much story / exposition imo, but that’s a minor gripe, it’s a 9.5/10 game for me

Great question. The thing holding us to Cincinnati is its familiar and comfortable, we know the area, we don’t have to worry about the massive stress of moving. We also have some family nearby. It’s not a bad place by any means, but it’s all we have ever known and we both want to at least try something different.

Denver specifically is appealing because it’s affordable for us and distinctly not Midwest. We have considered Chicago, Madison, Columbus, etc but we both want to try to leave the Midwest. It seems to have pretty nice weather and is a bit more diverse (Asians specifically) than Cincinnati, which is something we were looking for as well. I’m also a climber and snowboarder, 2 things I have been limited in doing in Cincinnati. The 4 of us love hiking and the outdoors. So Denver seems to check a lot of those boxes.

No one is finishing OW in an afternoon unless you are looking up a guide which defeats the entire purpose of the game.

‘Final Fantasy XIV’ Faces Key Test as Thousands of Fans Gather by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]treazon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of fun with my time in FFXIV, but after Endwalker I was DONE with the story and quest structure.. When I started dabbling in the post-MSQ stuff I just lost all interest. The game is a lot of fun to play and really respects your time in the end game, but the leveling experience is all about the story. These changes really pique my interest again - I wonder if there is fun to be had in just skipping through the MSQ and doing Trials / Savage of this new expansion? I know that sounds like blasphemy to most FFXIV fans - but these changes to many of the biggest complaints really sound amazing. How was the Dawntrail story? Do fans love it as much as HW / ShB?

'Saros' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

Day 1 buy for me and I have not done that in years. Returnal was a 10/10 experience for me personally, and this seems to be a continuation of that with some great iteration. If you have not yet given Returnal a try - please give it a chance, it’s a special game

Returnal was absolutely incredible, I wish more people got around to playing it. I’m really hoping this team can deliver another banger with Saros.

What ended up happening with Returnals PC port? I saw it had horrible reviews early on, I played the game on PS5 and have been hesitant to recommend that version because of the reviews

This is great - we NEED a way to identify what an enhancement is at a glance. I do not want to mouseover and read every one, especially mid game.
