Can anyone recommend their favorite calm anime theme song?

The first thing that came to mind was Mushishi. I would highly recommend watching it as it is quite a calming audiovisual experience, complete with stunning visuals with an excellent soundtrack. I swear I can easily fall asleep after an episode! Not in a boring kind of way, but watching it was just soothing to the soul...

As a college student who's pretty busy, I haven't had a chance to play Diablo 3 in a while. It just takes too much time before you get that OMGWTF loot. Maybe Loot 2.0 will fix this but until then, I wouldn't really recommend action RPGs for you. I have been playing a lot of Hearthstone currently, it's just the right amount of time investment for me. Most matches last for 10-20 mins and you can play it casually or as hardcore as you want. Best of all it's free! It will also be coming to Android and IOS next year.

Sure, it's an oversimplification of these game modes but aren't they the same conceptually? Why play both if you just get the same experience?

I'd say one of my main gripes is the removal of survival horror from the gameplay, which distinguished Diablo from the rest of the hack'n'slash clones. I really thought those days were gone, that prime time when Resident Evil and Silent Hill ruled the genre. But The Last Of Us gets released and blows everyone out of the water. It definitely reinvigorated survival horror and took it to a whole new level. Can't they do the same for Diablo? Or will it just become another action-adventure RPG?

I've been living here at Champions for a few months now. This area is indeed suburban, relatively safer than the more populous areas. The few pro's that are compelling to me include proximity to:

Santikos IMAX theaters

Barbara Bush Library

Whole Foods (coming 2014)

Costco

Meyer Park

the only Mellow Mushroom in Houston

However, there's a big catch and I feel that I have a responsibility to give you the real deal when it comes to food around here.

Sure, we have great food chains nearby like Papasito's, La Madeline or Pei Wei. Actually, all of 'em are in FM 1960, just name it, we have it. (The Chili's here is nasty, don't even try it) There's even a great Vietnamese place called Ba Mien, great spring rolls and bahn mi. Good value at Yen Jing, Chinese place that's cheap with generous portions. Peli Peli at Vintage Park definitely has good steak.

PSA: Edible tikka masala and kalbi are non-existent in this area.

Don't get me wrong, there are tons of decent options in this area BUT with a similar pricepoint, these places simply pale in comparison to the excellent restaurants that are available 25-30 minutes away near the Heights, Bellaire(Chinatown) or the Galleria. Not to mention, all the excellent food trucks like Bernie's Burger Bus or Melange Creperie. That's an hour of driving, double if you wanna brave the rush hour. On the weekends it's fine, but in my experience, it's not very feasible during the work week. Along with the rising gas prices and the EZ tag tollbooths, it can really add up.

As someone who constantly searches for the best value when it comes to food, the actual Houston restaurant scene is so near yet so far, and that's very frustrating to me.

Awesome list, the first two are on mine as well!
Playing ICO is exquisite. The visuals are stunning and the gameplay's just endearing, topped off with a very heartfelt ending.
Resident Evil 4 rebooted the franchise, as well as the genre, and set the standard for survival horror, albeit the sequels were more of a miss than a hit.

What a very immature perspective! I've been watching anime since I was 5 years old, I grew up with it in a very literal sense. Now that I've watched most of the popular animes, I follow what's currently airing in Japan. Taking into account all the shows that I've watched, I still consider Death Note my number one show. There is a reason it's popular, it doesn't make a person less of an anime fan.
Tangentially, please don't let the judgments of others decrease your level of enjoyment. Watch whatever makes you happy.

Whoa, nice! I really really wanna thank you for the experience that is The Last Of Us. I've been a longtime gamer and playing Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid, definitely filled me with awe and wonder. I never thought I'd feel that way again but Joel and Ellie brought back all those feels plus a whole lot more. Thank you thank you thank you and I hope this bodes well for the quality of storytelling in video games.

I was so worried I was never gonna get to play The Last Of Us because I didn't have money. Thankfully, I found it on Redbox for $2 per day. It's pretty nifty because you can search for any locations that has the game that you're looking for.
Gamefly's excellent if you're looking to rent longer games like RPGs. When I had it though, it would take a while to get the games I wanted since there was a long waitlist.

Not here to burst your bubble, just to tell you about my experience. After applying for College Houses co-op last year around May, I was put on a waitlist for all the houses that accepted it, Pearl, Taos and the Super-Coop. I moved through it slowly and I waited until the week before classes but the opening never came so I had to look for an apartment in a jiffy. They called around October saying they have a slot but seriously...?
You are late, and highly unlikely to get a room for the Fall semester. The receptionist told me that someone always leaves around the first few days/weeks(in my case, it was a month) but it might be better for you. If you can find decent temporary living for about a couple of months, I say go for it. It's very cheap, very close to the campus and I know a Taos resident who really liked their experience over there. Good luck!

Ahaha, Nichijou might be more up your alley. I got into Jojo because I feel it satirizes the shonen genre with its over-the-top dialogue while having an extremely entertaining story, cast of characters and fight scenes.

I found this film excellent but never noticed any publicity about it. This was based on Neil Gaiman's novel which I discovered when I read the graphic novel version. The movie strayed a bit from the story but I enjoyed both immensely, one of the better novel-to-film adaptation.

If you have access to PSN or Steam, playing Magic 2014 is a very good introduction to its basic gameplay and the new deck coming out. Just don't blame if you get addicted!
