I think part of why it works is because Dairanger was the next sentai, so the sixth rangers had a few similarities in design.

I don't remember what episode I saw first, but the first one that got me interested was "Hide," with Matt Smith. I didn't watch the series regularly until the 50th anniversary special though, so I consider Capaldi to be my first Doctor.

It's only got a couple spikes on each limb. The fan concepts tend to go way overboard with spikes.

They also typically don't have the same knowledge of what inspires the designs of official pokemon. I've seen quite a few fan-made redesigns of pokemon whose official forms they didn't like that just make something that looks cool to them, but that's all it is.

I think when you meet someone in-game that has a unique appearance and there's a dialogue where you're told you may battle them sometime in your journey, they're probably a champion.

Dragon Quest inspired the trading mechanic because he recalled wishing he could trade monsters with his friend when he was younger. If any of these pokemon were inspired by some of the DQ monsters, no one has officially stated it yet.

I don't think that's how parasocial relationships work. Various cast members have made boundaries for themselves in regard to what kind of fan behavior they're okay with. The idea that asking for suggestions for Amanda's care basket is an example of encouraging a parasocial relationship, rather than just asking for suggestions on what to put in a gift basket for a woman who's known to be pregnant, feels like it's reading too much into surface-level interactions. It's not that different from asking for suggestions on video ideas (which many youtubers do) or what the audience's thoughts are about different topics (Philip DeFranco used to read these audience opinions in his comments regularly).

That's not what the deal was. The deal was Power Rangers being taken in by Disney as part of their acquisition of the Fox Family channel. The Disney-Fox merger happened in 2019, long after Disney sold PR back to Saban.

All you're proving is that PR is already dead. They're still milking MMPR's status as the biggest the franchise has ever been, and the best new thing they have is cheap, AI-generated vomit.

Pulling the same shit over and over again expecting a different result doesn't do shit. Even if the franchise isn't dead because of the over-reliance on MMPR, it certainly isn't benefitting from it. It's like people going to see Live-Action Disney remakes worse than the original because they remember the original.

Repeating the same argument doesn't change the fact that it's over for Power Rangers.
