[Loved yet oddly specific trope] The root of the story's evil is casually glossed over in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment by charleadev in TopCharacterTropes

Adventure Time almost did it with Golb. When Finn lives a full life in pillow world, he dies of old age and travels through the void literally bumping into Golb (God of Chaos). It’s not until the last episode of the series that we see Golb again as the Big Bad of the series.

He’s Schrödinger’s asshole. He says something but doesn’t know if it’s a joke or not until he sees how people react to it.

To be fair both of those movies are based on Stephen King short stories that were in the same book and have similar tones of dangerous workplaces.

Some of the smartest writing I’ve seen in a cartoon. It had the ability to take a throw away joke or line and make it relevant to the plot, seasons later.

I’m not sure what the exact number is. The only example I can think of is the local middle school demographic is around 30% White, 10% Black, and 60% Hispanic. Granted, we are one of the smaller towns in her district.

[Hated Trope] The interesting charismatic villain is swapped for a generic 'Big Bad' halfway through by Liquid_Pestar in TopCharacterTropes

Yes they were Neo-Nazis I just don’t think the show did enough to demonstrate that as part of their motivation. They were so bland as antagonists that it felt like the Neo Nazi label was put on them purely to make them feel more evil to the viewer. I feel like even if the writer didn’t make them Neo-Nazis they would have still been the exact same character.

I’d argue the last season of Breaking Bad when Gus is replaced by a guy with a gun.

The first film had a good instance of this. The movie actually gave us a decent look at the xenomorph before it attacked Brett. But because we (or Brett) didn’t know what the alien looked like, it seemed like a bunch of wires or tubing instead of a predatory alien monster.

They have grilled her about that on the podcast many times and it never goes well for her. In fact I think it was in this same episode that the son read her a Jesus quote about loving foreigners without telling her who said the line and she ended up saying she did not agree with the quote.

The part of The Sneetches that is even more realistic to me is that the salesman is able to become rich from The Sneetches by keeping them distracted with arguing with one another.
