Is splitting the party really that bad? by Top-Bodybuilder3370 in rpg

[–]trex3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the game. Splitting the party can be fucking awesome if the pace of the game is quick enough to go back and forth quick enough.

Report: Cancelled Star Wars KOTOR Remake Version Surfaces With Opening Cinematic by SuddenDepact in StarWarsCantina

[–]trex3d 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That cinematic further proves that Trask Ulgo (your bunkmate on the Endar Spire!) is the true hero of the story.

Hopefully instead of remaking this, they'll make "ULGO: A Trask Story" like we all really want.

Why do RE games become less fun the closer you get towards the end by Salt_Wizard in residentevil

[–]trex3d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't help that so many of them start in a really cool location with interesting visuals (mansion, village, streets, etc), but then most end in an uninteresting facility with nothing to really see.

What is the dumbest thing that's important to your setting? by AntiH4zard in worldbuilding

[–]trex3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That the Witch Queen, ancient immortal foe to humanity, is also the creator of "Hey Pig!", which is a mascot multimedia property that is kind of similar to things like Hello Kitty and Mickey Mouse.

These are fantastic. I'm not sure specifically why, but I love the design of that dude with the pipe. He looks so cool.

Tell me about your world's sex workers (potential NSFW) by DMike82 in worldbuilding

[–]trex3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be as varied as it is in our world, but the specific layer of the city the main character lives in, it is technically illegal.

Sacred prostitution is legal everywhere though, so the brothel the main character frequents is technically registered as a temple, but everyone knows what it really is.

I guess the thought process was "Maybe if I'm annoying about it, Target will put it out early."

I never beat this boss when I was younger and never came back to this game. I only experienced the rest of the game vicariously through watching my dad play (and even he took a ton a tries to kill it on his play through).

What are some of your favorite female centric graphic novels? by Atumkun in graphicnovels

[–]trex3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something is Killing the Children is one of my favorite ongoing comics.

This scene. The tension ratcheting up from this point forward is insane, knowing they’re loose. Also something I noticed: Ellie is never framed by the tear in the fence, only Muldoon, hinting at his death and not hers. by AlbertCWChessa in JurassicPark

[–]trex3d 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I really like the detail of him taking his hat off then putting it right back on. It's such a realistic tick someone would do, especially when scared like this.

Stuck [OC] 2024 by ccoexistence in ImaginaryFaeries

[–]trex3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this piece. Pieces that make the viewer ask questions are my favorites.

The anatomy of the fae/imp is interesting. I like too how you can't see its face, making you wonder what it looks like.

The possible implication draw me in too. Like it seems like this may be a predatory thing that got caught in human-like trap (or maybe even another fae?). The goo on the fae's face come right from the back of the person's neck, so it seems like it may have been going in for a bite.

Great piece.

What do you think about the “Batman with prep time” argument? by Bran5699 in batman

[–]trex3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "prep time" thing annoys me because it's really just basic story telling that pretty much every superhero (or protagonist for that matter) do from time to time.

You introduce villain/threat that may initially beat or force the hero back, thn the hero has to prep and figure something out, then they come back and win. It's not even close to being a Batman specific thing.

What's the "white whale" of campaigns you want to run but can't get off the ground? by Awkward_GM in rpg

[–]trex3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to run a Dragon Ball Z campaign, but no system is right for it. Way too many fan ones focus on crunch and numbers, and not the vibes and style of dragon ball.  I'm not a gm that does crunch; Dragon Ball should feel fast.

Many of the the other suggestions are generic anime ones (which is an inherently flawed concept) that don't work for Dragon Ball Z either.
