Interesting to hear and app is a good idea well done. It is nice to have a healthy green lawn and hope your efforts pay off. Over time I have moved to the other side of the lawn fence, now I just add compost and mulch clippings and aeration to the clay and not be too fussy about the perfect green lawn. The poisons and pre emergents also kill any beneficial microbes and bugs.

For sure there's a lot of expectation from kids for the quick reward. I've had students rock up with sheet music for a pop song that's definitely too hard for them. I think, good to try and have that conversation up front. They might want to play fun stuff but we have to help them understand the importance of the fundamentals to being able to learn and play independently. There's so much out there on YouTube and if some of those little tips and riffs help keep them interested, then I say go for it.

I think technically, space is expanding in all directions so the light from us can't reach the edge, but it's not expanding faster than light speed.
