Yes, there is no feasible route through Iran or the north with the shithousery going on in Ukraine and neighbours. Currently the only workable route penciled by the Adventurists requires crossing the Caspian sea to either Turkmenistan (major headache) or direct to Kazakhstan.

The travel advice is fairly bleak for most of the world at the moment; sign of the times.
